The squall line earlier seems to have knocked my rain gauge out. To windy to get out and inspect right now. Such a pit, some very heavy showers have occurred.
The wind has been gradually increasing the last half hour or so. Averaging back close to 30 mph

It has been raining pretty much not stop since last night, alternating between drizzle and heavy horizontal showers.

nice graphic with "weather type" switched on , cold air digging in behind the front(s), squall line clearer with this view mode

Squall line looking more organised now. Expecting it to hold together / intensify as the afternoon progresses.

Its gone quite calm now the line has passed over us, the bad weather only lasted a couple of mins

likewise , perhaps down to the zone between fronts, disrupting the pressure differential  .. a temporary lull in proceedings, as this section transitions east over north wales, north west england

Significant increase in pressure differential across the whole of the UK , as Franklin tracks east just brushing northern Scotland overnight and east into Denmark by 06z tomorrow, I have to say the isobars south of the occlusion look as tight as Eunice's southern flank

I would say that the current yellow and amber wind warnings in force are fit for purpose,  perhaps once the 12z outputs have been appraised, the amber warning may be extended to include parts of northern england, northwest england, north wales,  perhaps further extended to cover all of wales 's coasts and into the north west midlands

Squall line approaching now will break up as per normal here or actually do something. Very rare they survive the trip across the moors here.

This is gonna be bad

That is the big question for us PIT. As it stands it looks like a powerful one will hit here.

Winds dropping off now as it approaches which normally happens so the next ten to twenty minutes will be interesting.

Just had the squall line through in Cheshire.... amazingly heavy rain and gusty wind, temperature and pressure dropped away. My brother did part of his PhD on this!
