Line has passed through Brum- looks like we slipped through a gap in the line, so it wasn't as intense as I'd expected.

Same thing happened here in Leicester.

I know this has been discussed to death and back on Netweather, but you really have to question how this level of rainfall didn't warrant an Amber warning for the Peak District and other areas further North!?

Also, app generated forecasts and pretty much all models now showing 60mph gusts my area, higher than Friday!

Look at all that mesoscale cellular convection coming from the west...

Some lightning over Lincs, pretty strong convection over eastern England along the squall, wouldn't rule out a tornado in this area

Yes lovely shot. According to the gfs 12z a lot of these mesoscale cellular convections (showers ?) will be of the wintry nature right accross the uk?

After another very wet and stormy day, I think I can finally see the back edge of the rain to my north.  The sky is black to the south as the heaviest rain moves away at last, but unfortunately the wind is forecast to remain strong and gusty through the night and for most of tomorrow.  What a week of weather.  February has certainly made up for the generally benign and settled January many of enjoyed.

I agree. The flooding has been significant and this is before the high winds of Monday morning. I thought they dealt with the unpredictability of Eunice well, but I feel they've been a step or two behind with Franklin and once again forgotten the north exists. Disappointing.

Sky has cleared to blustery showers here, the wind is starting to ramp up stronger than it has been thus far today, solid F8 with gusts approaching 60mph,, and sustained at times. Considering Franklin' s wind impact will be midnight to 6am , that eyebrow of concern is once again raised

Squall line approaching here, with a fair bit of lightning on it over Lincs!! Wind really getting up. This has gone rather under the radar with Eunice getting all of the headlines.

Here in Stornoway we have already had many graupel showers, some sleet too in one occasion. The WRF is saying the same for around midnight

It only effects sheep in the peak district and all those people using the snake pass, cat and fiddle and unsuspecting walkers don't count.

The Met office was also extremely slow to pick up the storm even it was well modelled soon after Eunice moved away.

Very heavy rain with gales passing through just now much colder wind all of a sudden. Lots of flooding and roads impassable down in the dales. I see the radar is turning much more wintry now from the N/W.

Very poor warning coverage on behalf of the Met Office today. Various roads and railway lines blocked in Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds, as well as other places, due to flooding.

Should've issued an amber warning.

Here in my local area, I have to say that it's probably somewhat worse here (then Storm Eunice) in terms of the rain, wind is about the same though it's quite gusty at times.

Well I had sleet during the end of Eunice, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Not sure it does PIT. Meadowhall is about to flood and Rotherham town centre is going to be a close call for flooding as well. Its touch and go at the minute for this. Thats a lot of damage to businesses if it plays out

Edit. Was there a touch of sarcasm in there? Haha

It's much worse here than Friday; sustained winds, not just gusts, howling v loudly, esp out back garden.
