Would be very localised.  You can see an 80 km/h hardly any distance away on the chart.

These gusts were stronger that 80kmh, must have been over 100kmh at least, nearly knocked me off my feet

Alternatively use met office observations page .. not as pretty ... accuracy? I would hope so

Looks confusing

The wind is retuning as the squall line strengthens almost as if breathing in and it'll breath out here soon I suspect with even stronger winds, sounds like some tiles are about to be ripped off the roof in some gusts

Had to turn around a take an alternative route to work this evening, the country lanes are flooded quite badly around here. In a much worse state than they were on Friday night.

Just seen that my local weather station (Andrewsfield Aerodrome) recorded a 53mph gust during the squall. Throw in the rain and it was a pretty intense experience.

xcweather.co.uk another good wind observation website. A gust recently of 52mph at high Wycombe, notable.

Yes i check that one but I think just need to treat myself to a weather station this year

It's gusting to just under 50 mph here, but it doesn't appear to be that bad right now, however the wind is definitely picking up. I'm surprised the warning hasn't extended to the southern half of the Western Isles, given that Tiree has. A gust of 68 mph was reported in South Uist, and 74 mph was recently recorded in South on Barra and the worst has still yet to come for them.

Wasn't Eunice more of a wind storm than a rain storm?

Yes and a much smaller feature ... Franklin, double cold front packed a punch and a significant dwell time with rain failing in the warm sector too ahead of the cold front .. several hours of precipitation

How there isn't an amber warning out for NW England is beyond me. 60-70mph going through a densely populated area and it's a yellow?!

How isn't there an amber warning for S England? Eunice has weakened structures and 50-60mph+ gusts inland aswell

Firefighters have rescued some residents as heavy rain and strong winds sweep Yorkshire.

Had a gust of 47mph when the squall line went through. Wasn't particularly intense the rain here on southern outskirts of London.

I think Storm Franklin could be more notable for flooding issues than wind, 2 severe flood warnings south of Manchester near Didsbury. Numerous flood warnings across the N of England.

though winds will be pretty strong and potentially damaging again for N England, N Wales and N. Ireland in the early hours as centre of Franklin moves  SE over NE Scotland.

Several roads closed locally to me due to flooding, far worse however up in the Derwent valley by the looks of things

This particular section of the river mersey is at it's highest level since records began. No wonder there is a severe flood warning issued.

The nature of squall lines always meant that it could hit one place extremely strongly and others not so much and it seems like it did just that. Wonder how this max wind gusts chart from earlier is holding up.

ICON 12z max wind gusts up to 12am tomorrow

Notorious for slightly over-egging the wind speed but still some high figures on this chart nonetheless
