Works well, and is nice and clear!

I can imagine your pain having traveled so far for so little, but you have to buy a ticket if you want to win the jackpot

Which is why I'm going to head towards Southampton, and see how things unfold

On two occasions these past few days we had many people saying nothing will happen, but on both occasions we ended up with something.

Fingers crossed tonight is no different

Wish me luck ??

Yeah that's top drawer Jamie, nice one - saves having to scrabble around these nonsense webcam sites if it all kicks off. Good luck, hope you get a pelter!

Arome had strong returns in the mid-channel by 18Z, nothing yet. I suspecting a big punt eastwards.

Meanwhile into the drizzle here....

Next couple of hours. Starting to see some signs of destabilisation now along the leading edge of the rain band.

Leaving for Worthing now, my limit for tonight. It’s humid this neck of the woods.

Today in the car around 5 o’clock I saw a clear Kelvin helmholtz cloud sadly We drove behind trees so I couldn’t see it for that long. I’m excited for tonight!

I see a few comments regarding limited lightning potential this far west, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Would rather see interesting structure than strobe lightning.

Obviously both would be excellent.

Last time I saw some interesting structure in daylight hours was all the way back in 2013.

That looks like a wall cloud was trying to form with all that scuddy stuff hanging underneath! Great shot!

Some deep convection kicking off W of the Channel Islands judging by Sat24. One heavy shower may have just produced the odd strike. IF initiation takes place W of the Channel Islands, then this is further west than I expected.

I have Fibromyalgia, Before I got it I used to treat comments about pain related to weather with some scepticism. Now I know when there's rain within 150 miles because my joints stop working properly. Bonkers isn't it?
I have no Thunder warning system though.

I have Fibromyalgia too and it is making the pain in my joints to be more painful than usual and the fatigue has worsened.  Strange I am coping with the warmth much better now.  I have been looking at the weather forecast for South Ockendon on wunderground and it showed earlier on in the afternoon that there will 85% risk of precipitation from 10pm to 1pm and later on the afternoon it  gone up from 100% of precipitation at 1pm.  Now at 19:22 precipitation went down to 89% with thunder-showers and at midnight it went up to 98% with heavy thunderstorms. I think it will be a nowcast whether we get rain or not as the forecast keeps on changing. I do not think there will be thunderstorms as the humidity level is too low.
