Got your stream open at the moment @Mapantz. Some nice loud thunder on it at the moment. Not quite that loud here at the moment

I have to say, I was 50/50 about tonight, but it's nice to be in the line of fire for a change.

Still seeing a strike every minute or so here from either of the two cells to my SW. Getting closer

Currently have eyes on storm East of Taunton but lightning activity seems to be slowing. Fingers crossed haha

Seeing the odd flash in that direction now.

The channel storm looked like a Kent clipper east of Southampton and now all the storms west of Southampton seem do be heading straight north.  I am confused.

Wow wow wow!! A huge storm directly overheard. Have had less wet baths. Crashing thunder. Probably now the best storm since July 2015.

Extremely faint lightning from at least 80 miles away and is heading in my general area

Interestingly, from what I initially thought was going to be a SE/Kent Clipper type of event, now seems to be the opposite? Main area of interest seems to be heading straight up in a Northerly/NNE direction, into the spine of the country? Could there be some unexpected surprises?

Some of it did clip Kent but was much more behind it. The storms are further west than expected  but moving  north east

It's all gone quiet now! A very good 24 hours imby. Hopefully, many more to come.

Apparently in the central midlands it was going to strengthen around the early morning hours.

Judging by UKV 700hPa winds, it appears CS England steering flow is more northerly, whereas across the SE it looks more NE'ly.

Lightning not so prevalent now but rain not far away here.

I think this might be a close but no cigar event for us. All eyes on a proper storm opportunity this week methinks.

Standard..haha. Will see what the week brings but most suggest storms being west or east of here again.

Getting a few faint flashes still but must be very high up as the thunder is barely audible. Have heard one rumble so far.
