I am keeping my eye on that trough feature which is currently shown on the UKMO fax chart from 12pm and also now is showing on the sat and PPN radar from Wales to N London as my best chance of storms up here today

good luck to those in this neck of the woods.

The sky is very dark over to my north west.

Update: Just heard a distant rumble of thunder! ?

Here in Doncaster, feeling quite sultry under the sun, hoping for something later on so I might get a time lapse going

Juicy storm near Congleton heading in my general direction. If there's any left, I send the crumbs over to your side of the Pennines.

Looking very capped here between Barnsley and Wakefield. Hoping things start going upwards soon. Temperatures may be too low though at 19⁰c

Despite what looks to be quite impressive rainfall, I can confirm that all we’ve had are a few spots of rain!

Likewise, I haven’t heard any more thunder.

I’m starting to get the feeling that today could be a bit of a damp squib!

Anywhoooo, this is my current view looking north towards Runcorn and Manchester… Plus current live lightning and rainfall radar.

Some really strong sunshine up here in the North-East at the moment,so maybe some fuel for the fire.

Debating if a trip up the M18 will be worth while, can't see much happening here

Heavy localised showers so far here but some lovely cloudscapes and plenty of time yet for thunder..

GFS, ICON and ARPEGE have all pretty much removed any threat for Wednesday evening having it much, much further now.

After my last post, we’ve just had a really heavy power shower here! ?

Lashing rain, really strong gusty winds, but oddly, no thunder!

This might be a bit of a heads up for later, for those N, NE of Macc.  Brief break in the low level cloud revealed huge cumulus passing just east of Macclesfield.
