I spotted them at 23:45 last night coming across the North Sea - I was on the coast at Whitby. It was a good long-lasting show until around 03:00.

I stumbled across this on YT a couple of days ago. Thought it was a decent primer for newbies on the science of noctilucent clouds.

I was watching a brumcam NLC video on pootube the other day, and watched the ASTRUM video linked above about NLCs.

I thought perhaps all the rockets, that have deployed satellites over the last few decades may of increased the seeding of NLCs.

It should have been a Dean Martin reference

Makes sense to me  Nasa are also believing that there is more water vapour entering the mesosphere

More ingredients up there and if it`s cooked right ( by freezing ) =  One hell of a display

It is Rob

and with the daisy`s getting fatter than the available storage on my PC

.. there`s a chance of a repeat of last night display which started around midnight due North, and lasted till day break where they was showing in the NW. At no stage were they above 10° altitude most of the times visible with the eye  ( this mornings photos are resting in the camera)

With the width of the NLC`s increasing down to 65° latitude, these will show in or just above the smut level.

Good luck all

Only Russia showing anything on the cameras so far... which is a bit concerning, and the daisy hasnt updated to confirm yesterdays promise....

This is frustrating.

The aurora oval is across Scotland on some charts. Shame the sky is too bright. Maybe someone could get the aurora with NLCs.

I've seen photos a while back of this on Spaceweather.
