Got some incredibly weak NLCs just behind cloud cover to north here, not particularly high up.

They did the exact same last night ..disappeared when we got to the end of nautical twilight, then reappear with a vengeance when the glow got more favourable

i didnt fancy staying up another 2 hours "just in case"... but well done to those who did and caught this mornings display!

the daisy eventually updated, and correctly predicted a low/weak show.

Stunning capture`s @Sprites .. worth waiting around for

your last photo is a cracker Saturn, the Moon, Capella and her constant companion Menkalinan with the last of the fading NLC`s

late latest daisy (which would have been the 2 day out for last night)

In hindsight, it show`s pretty much the evolution of last night/ mornings display ( looking back from noon)

Yeah I had an early night, then was in meercat mode from about 23.30.

Went out at 02.15 am thought I'd wait for the moon planet conjunction.

Just looked on the Spaceweather gallery, a few lucky folks got the Aurora and NLCs.

when you mentioned a possible Aurora last night and just after the 1st half display was fading

I started a 20" exposure time lapse due N .. "Just in case"

haven't got around to checking the back of the camera yet

With the daisy`s now regularly showing a full  mass of clouds down to and past the 65 ° lat area`s.

the 5 day transit time of the clouds also seems to be more constant. theoretically, making forecasting NLC`s more precise

So being it`s Sunday with little chance of an early release of tonight's Daisy.

In consideration of a more constant transit of the clouds, we can use this 3 day out daisy as a pointer

current_daisy23jj.thumb.png.70a7967313571127525b8f7a5be1ab3a.png

The Massive yellow arrow points to where the clouds should be for the start of the 1st half this evening, with the 2nd half being shown in the 3/4 minutes anti-clockwise of the arrow.

looking at the colours and density of the clouds will give us a hint to the brightness of the forecast clouds

For this evening, this would indicate a low (just over the SL) faint display which may show across a larger section of the horizon than just due N

I`m not expecting a lot from the 2nd half

I did manage to catch the show early this morning, but as you can see, it was mostly blocked by buildings. Getting any sort of decent shot was further complicated by the floodlights on the nearby building crane
