Sounds very concerning. Looked like a real humdinger that’s for sure. Looked like a mesocyclone on that photo posted!

i found it on a post on facebook, so thought i would mention it.

Some very intense looking storms around the Edinburgh area. The one furthest SE has a distinct supercellular return to it, and moving away to the right…

Given how strong the SRW on the GFS soundings for the rough area were and looking at the way in which Supercells acquite their rotation then the ratio at which this is, would, in my opinion, suggest that you are correct here.

definitely looking to change now started off with a bit of acas bubbling up and then noticing some cumulus trying to build, haven't had clouds obscuring the sun for over a week, first time today and gradually getting more hopefully its a sign of some big storms on the way, I'm a lover of the blue cloudless skies and endless sunshine but would be good to have some storm activity now

i think tomorrow daytime is when we get the storms, there looks like a occluded front near the south west tomorrow night which i think will only bring really heavy rain

I guessed it was at Inshes, mate, my having shopped there for more than 20 years; it doesn't storm that often up there, but when it does, all Hell lets loose!

Don't you worry, EE: Some 'older' folks still think youth is a barrier to intelligence: if they really think that, it's their own brainpower they should be worried about? Just keep posting, mate!👍

Regarding the storms around, are we likely to see these get worse overnight or are we expecting an evening peak, a wane and then a bang tomorrow afternoon for the radar watching.

Much more cloud now, as of late

Another flying ant day 😫 disgusting! Shame it’s not preceding thunderstorms down our way, although increasingly hopeful for tomorrow 👌

Yep I've been under all of those and I too believe they were most likely supercells albeit elevated, thunder was non stop and probably the best I've heard, it started with a very close cg though didn't see many other flashes likely due to it being elevated

Meh, clouds are overrated, had some this week already 😛 Not that they did anything apart from obscure the sun occasionally....

Well it all looked very promising here this afternoon with huge cauliflower clouds building and towering. I was convinced it was all going to kick off this evening but unfortunately its all evaporated for some strange reason and we are now back to clear blue sky.

Looking a tiny bit further ahead, ECM is still interested in some imports flirting with central south and southeastern channel coasts late on Tuesday night into Weds AM. Only posting the precip. charts since this is just  48-60 hours away now
