Currently very humid here in Deeping, forecast is for 29 / 30 today and I can believe it. The sky looks good!

Hi all, my 1st post (sad, I know lol).

Here in the South West UK, we KEEP getting Thunderst❤️rn alerts and warnings, yet not a cloud in sight, nor any "Dry Thunderstorms"! It's getting to the point where I'm as desperate for lightning as the plants are for rain🌧️

*update* Under a yellow alert for thunder⚡and the promised rain clouds have now passed over, yet All we had in Lyme Regis was a passing elevated Mist, maybe low cloud, that literally just moistened the tarmac and leaves of the tallest plants, but the ground remains the same hard baked and cracked way it was before. No water fell, apart from my eyes 👀☁️😭🌥️😭

Tomorrow is a much better chance for thunderstorms across much of England and Wales. Today is just an appetiser for the main course tomorrow. That said, the day is still young and its not even 12 yet.

It rained pretty steady in Bridport for an hour or so but has done very little to moisten the ground!

Hi all, well lets hope for us storm lovers this heatwave goes out with a bang, although the forecast for here is not good for storms it just feels right, hot, sunny and clouds building, you never know.

It felt right last time lol 😉

But I think we are guaranteed something this time around because Dan's slight is practically all over the country.  I'm a bit concerned about the slow moving showers though - surely the lack of movement will cause each cell to die off quickly in terms of lightning

And looking potentially better as the low drops down the western approaches pulling up some warmer air the spin is throwing up some good showers over Cornwall, and some more activity in the channel as shown on the satellite shot:

Nice to see some storms firing across the SW...look quite punchy too!

Quite a bit of cloud bubbling up and feeling increasingly oppressive!

I think with enough instability present this isn’t necessarily a problem

To the W and NW I can see Turkey towers trying to shoot up! Probably the stuff over the midlands that is visible. Then to my S, developments over S Cambridgeshire towards Essex trying to go up. Could get interesting later into this evening!

Think we could see storms popping up all over the shop this afternoon.

Unlike the heatwave 2 weeks ago, we now have the missing ingredient. humidity.

Very intense echoes over Cornwall. Praying we don’t see a repeat of 16th August 2004.. 😣

Can also say as I live just outside St Austell I heard some thunder too.

As with St Austell/Awful luck as we call it it just missed us.

However Truro has got some flashflood from it.

Met Office very quick to issue an Amber warning. Showers certainly training over the same areas.

Looks like things are getting going around here too, and the radar supports that, with small cells to the North and South
