I'm on holiday in Ayr tonight, can't quite work out what's going on. BBC and Met Office been changing their mind every hour, now looks to be building to my SW slightly. Air very slow outside too.

There might be something in the Ayr tonight , lol ,sorry I couldn’t resist

The strikes over the NW/western Peak District are definitely  false-returns, nothing but stars and the occasional whispy cloud overhead here.

A few strikes popping up over Wales & England unless they’re false readings?

Yes false readings, always look where the heaviest precipitation is,that usually gives you a clue as to where the lightning strikes are

here try this one...

Keeping expectations low for tomorrow as this year has proven to be disappointment after disappointment. Any storm will be a surprise (or any rain really).

Had a great display this evening from lots of storms around, here's a little clip of a capture from the coast of ayrshire. Hopefully lots more to come for the storm starved folk over the coming few days

I’m watching them. It’s all creeping  closer to me that’s for sure.

Fingers crossed the Irish storms make a successful crossing across the Irish Sea tonight without being burned out.

If they make the mainland they should develop enough energy to make some storms that won't be forgotten for a long time.

Typical. A strike just of Crosby where I used to live.

things keep decaying and then re-developing slightly further east.

I'm seeing distant lightning here in Whaley Bridge from the storms now over the Irish sea, quite a unexpected surprise.

Home now after the distant sferics have gone more north, nothing too spectacular to see with the cell cores being some 60 miles away but the flashes were still evident with a single bright one lightning up the whole cloud. Hopefully more of that a bit closer to home over the next 2 days.

Just had a really nasty storm over us for the last hour or so with mostly +CG strikes which were absolutely terrifying! I’ll try to post some videos in the morning.
