Still somewhat of a chance of a more organised front Saturday night.

Fingers crossed and perfect timing to enjoy on the first Sunday in December. Far better than happening overnight Sunday into Monday!

Not dropped too far here and currently only -2c

possibly a bit of cloud cover with us being so far east in the region but no signs of any more snow overnight, just the remains of that from the night before.

watched the BBC forecast and, as already mentioned, it showed the chances of a more organised area of snow crossing the region later on Saturday so maybe a covering for many to wake up to and a festive feel on Sunday.

Its Old Glossop Christmas Markets on Sunday.  Picture postcard scenes maybe although with it being on an incline in parts, they will need to clear and grit the roads.

Good morning, really cold out there, smacks you in the chops and wakes you up as soon as you step outside.  Look at Shap -8.2°C, screen shot taken just before 6.30am, -4.6°C here in Macc with clear skies.  Bird table and water frozen solid, given them extra helpings of food again, ground is rock hard.  Wrap up, keep warm and stay safe on those slippery untreated roads.

-6.2ºC last night; coldest night so far

**Edit: It's -2.5ºC currently -4ºC currently!

Just watched both our cats head into the woods for their morning pee and struggling to find somewhere to dig 😂 - They found the back end of the compost heap that's still soft'ish (I turned it over yesterday for them); so they're happy...

Both walking about like Pink Panther looked like when he climbed out of the tumble dryer (you'll know what I mean if you're of a certain age and remember the cartoons) 😉

I'm not sure we church-goers will be too chuffed if we wake up to snow on Sunday morning but, yes, I accept it's probably better then than Monday morning.

Another cracking morning. The downside is that the ground is getting frozen up and I wonder how much sport  will be off this weekend, including Crewe Alex in the FA Cup. I'm not sure I would want to be there anyway. Despite the sun and absence of snow or ice, my fingers are getting really chilled and sore every time I go out, even with thick gloves.

It's the GFS 6z so take with a huge dose of salt, good news & bad news.

The weekend looks better.

But Monday's low has taken a huge correction south.

After that, the run goes shaped like a pear.
