Still snowing here and wind is blowing it about a bit but it’s still not amounted to much other than covering the cars again.

better than rain I suppose though so I’ll stop winging and accept that I’m doing a lot better than most in here at the moment👍

My thoughts on the precipitation for the rest of today...

Snow above 300 m, sleet above 150 m, rain below.

As we go into tonight though should get sleet to sea level and snow above 200 m... Expect if we get any heavy bursts we could bring snow down to sea  level at times. Freezing level is high but air below is uniformly only just above freezing.
The caveat though is the atmosphere is very saturated now so there isn't much DeltaTD to play with for evap cooling.

Seems to be going to plan so far.

I think I should add it looks like it will turn to rain everywhere  eventually bye lunch tomorrow if there's any precip left.

Back on the train Manchester, moderate lying snow even down to sea level east of the Pennines. The snow line seems to be around Marsden.

Pleased to report the rain did eventually turn to snow before any significant melting of snow already laid. Would be blizzarding now if the snow was heavier but this will most certainly do 👍👍

Dropped below -1 degrees. Despite rising temps over coming days, the snow will take some time to clear. compacted. May well be Thursday before a substantial thaw sets in.

Very tricky walking conditions on ice.

Today brought little brightness and the snow has stayed in tact to full depth on car roofs, no wind to shake it off.

@Iceaxecrampon sorry to read your post, 95 years a grand age to reach.  Thoughts with you and your family.

Mild, 3.3°C, ground not frozen solid, grateful for that as will be walking to work in a bit.  Light rain, no snow left.  Hills out East are probably white over, will see if so in the daylight.

My families thoughts are with you.

On 12th December last year (my wife's birthday), her mum passed.  Time is a healer and remembering the positive things in her years with us has put a smile on our faces.

May that be the same for you and your family.
