As Surface heating continues across London, thunderstorms are possible from the strongest of cells.

Anywhere west of the line stretching from Manchester to Birmingham will be seeing stronger pulse-cell storms soon once the skies clear substantially behind the occluded front, with the peak time at around 3pm for the Midlands. Considering we've already seen sferics and convection way ahead of the line during late-morning is only good news for the rest of this afternoon.

Yes, one rumble of thunder along with a bit of hail. First thunder of the year. Not able to chase today though, but then moving a but quick to chase anyway.

From what the models have been showing it's around 3pm when things will go 'pop' around central Wales/Shropshire Hills following on from the current convective line. It all depends on how much cloud clearance occurs between now and then but Sat24 is looking promising in terms of heating already getting to work again.

I did! And I got hit by hail that I'm pretty sure is going to leave me with bruises, about 6-8mm

Just had an insane hailstorm as that squall came through. Some pretty close strikes as well. I’ll have to search through my camera and share later.

It's gone quiet for the Mids. Hope something develops in the next few hours.
