Basis of this thread: This comes from a discussion on a foreign weather forum, where people are discussing whether British people find 25°C hot or not. So, it's a simple "yes" or "no" poll.

This isn't about judging anybody or anything of that sort, a basic questionnaire so I can get as many answers as possible in the poll as I'm collecting data.

Tough call. Generally no. But if I'm busy in the garden then yes it's boiling. Just sat around in it and being indoors no it's just warm .

Assuming it's not humid then no.

I voted yes but I would use the words too warm rather than too hot. Also depends upon other factors like whether there's a breeze or not.

No. 25c is very acceptable summer temperatures but I wouldn't categorise it as 'hot'. Hot to me (and it is a personal thing) is around 28c/30c and above. And something I haven't experienced since August 2022. I will say 25c is perfectly ok and warm.

25°C is a lovely summer temperature, I’d be happy with it every day for 3 months. Not too warm, nicely comfortable

Surely it depends on what precedes it. Weeks of 16 c then 25 will feel hot but weeks of 30+ then the reverse will be the case.

Point in case been here in Greece for 9 days in 30+ and will be by the weekend have 3 days at 38-40. Return to uk to 22c. Fairly reasonably by UK standards but most likely will feel baltic in comparison

Genereally no. But there are a few things to consider such as sunshine, time of year, whether or not there is a breeze and the humidity level.

For example, A sunny 25 Celsius day with a very little breeze and average humidity would feel warmer in late June than it would do in September when the sun isn't as strong.

But hot? Not really.

25c is borderline uncomfortable for me. I draw the line at 23. Anything higher is usually the result of a humid airmass, or an easterly wind that turns my neck of the woods into a greenhouse

25c is ideal summer temps for late May until early September.

23c is reasonable, but sometimes even 23c can still feel chilly if it’s windy during the summer months, where as 25-27c will feel comfortable even with a wind.

25c under cloud isn’t great, as it usually feels very humid, but wall to wall sunshine is a different story.

If it occurs in May or early June after months of colder weather then yes. In high summer it is just pleasantly warm unless you’re working it in.

As many have mentioned, it all depends on humidity. 25C would feel great under blue skies, 40% humidity. But when it's cloudy or stormy at 25C with a humidity above 90%, it's horrible.

I find 25C to be a perfect ambient temperature.

No it's perfect, even better when the sea breeze kicks in. 25 with humidity though, not so much.

For me personally,  unless I am well out of the sun, yes it is.  If it is cloudy and the sun isn’t out then I can cope with it.

25c is the very top end of what I find reasonable doing physical work outside.

Any more and it's just grim. Unfortunately in the UK genuinely dry heat at 25c and above is rare.

I was in Egypt in March where it was 32 and above but the heat was exceptionally dry and it was quite comfortable.

Hot, definitely not but I can see why for some it can be and agree when factoring in the breeze, humidity and the time of year. Pushing onto 30's then getting a bit uncomfortable.
