It's a sleepover. A massive party. Starts 330pm Friday until 10pm Saturday night. I'm dreading it! I hate entertaining other people's kids.

Difficult to deal with narcissistic tendencies, you’ll always be wrong until they change. You have my sympathy. Keep your chin up if you can. Sadly, we’re in for a longer period of grey dreariness

Quite clear and nice this morning but I don't even need to look at the forecast to make a near-guaranteed prediction that this will be clagged-over by mid to late morning (at best).

I can actually see stuff already bubbling up yonder!

Clouded over already here lol. Guess what's forecast for tonight? You guessed it- Another crystal clear night. Absolutely horrific luck. Looks like it could be a decent day further North though according to the satellite. Definitely brighter further South & East you go this month like was said right? Lol.

Yep barely lasted until 9am I was being optimistic to think 10/11am! 

Of course. It's the classic British summer pattern (outside of years like 2018 or 2022). So frustrating. Most countries have it in summer where the morning is more cloudy but the sun burns it off for a clear day...we have the opposite.

These consecutive days of fleeting sunlight are really starting to get to me now. It really is one of THOSE Julys, eh...

Day after day, I look at Sat24 and see the stratiform clouds blanket NW Europe, meanwhile, southern France and most of Iberia, besides the odd scattering of upper or mid level clouds, it's hot sunshine for them! An average regime, yes, but that's my problem... Oh the mediocrity!

That's July more or less done then. These patterns get locked in for weeks. Hopefully August will bring some real warmth.

This is what some people don’t understand. Ok, there aren’t killer floods or a total washout, but weeks of grey skies and drizzle in July are extremely hard to cope with for myself and no doubt many others
