As @Southern Storm said some fantastic photos, particularly of the storms at sunset...really envious in a nice way...although storms tomorrow are forecast further north im really hoping we can eek out a few surprises further south than today also...(please 🙏)

Judging by how much the models have been chopping and changing recently I wouldn't give up hope, there will be surprises for many tomorrow

I just hope the surprises are positive ones, and not one massive bust where all that potential fails to spark into life 🤞

Wow, probably the best storm in years here just now. Constant lightning. Just missed out on the heaviest of the rain, but it hasnt done much to reduce the temperature. Its still 22.0C.

I'm not expecting anything here, but with the possibility of cells firing west (west Dorset/Devon) after midnight, it's possible it could kickstart some cells further east.

The lightning from that storm in East Yorkshire is visible all the way from here!

Yep, that's the one. It passed right overhead. Its weird as its constant lightning but barely any thunder.

Was watching it in the distance from here, never seen constant lightning like it, made great viewing from up here on the Wolds 👍

Sat watching it from Cleethorpes, looks very surreal and the one that hit us has just about died with only a few flashes. Seems so still sat out.

cheers Glenn

Anyoen else seeing the storms in the channel? I am in Devon atm and I may go to the coast! Possible good lightshow for a county that has missed almost everything this year!

Just looked around here, too many houses and trees to see any distant lightning.

For those thinking they're gonna miss out in the SW, I believe most in somerset will see a massive thunderstorm roll through sometime between 2am and 3am. We can already see the start of it forming in the channel, and it's expected to merge together into a massive storm.
