Look at the head on that! This beast could be right turning for me.

Definitely needs a bit more right turn.  Might be worth going up to Hunny to see it over the Wash in about 45 minutes

Atmosphere and conditions seem to be getting worse where I am. Absolute bust of a day; shame.

I'm getting a bit concerned now that there will be these two big storms and little else. And I'm sat between the two of them.

I'm very conflicted and struggling to figure out why it's not quite happening here yet...

Crazy amounts of lightning on these homegrowns. They're in that sweet spot between Cambridge and Lincoln which is always prone to such beasts it seems!

I may have to have a trip up to see it off! Going very dark towards Wisbech way now.

Quite a storm that was with some biblical rain to go with it.

Zilch here a few miles south. Not even heard the thunder!

Looks like this is gonna completely miss us!

Very disappointing day up here yet AGAIN. Whenever we get these warnings of severe weather and thunderstorms the best we actually get is a few minutes of convective rain. Happens every bloody time.

Still stupidly humid and sticky here.

Not convinced it's all done to be honest.

Just had a thunderstorm here. Torrential rain and constant thunder.

Radar seems to be clearing directly south of us, unless anything else is due to develop but looks like all the juiciest stuff is east

Looks impressive on satellite as it prepares to head out to the North Sea and waste its potential

After reaching 30c followed by lot's of rumbles and a couple of very bright flashes we are now getting the biblical downpour as storms go pretty tame but about as good as it gets this year here

Sun's out and now mid level convection is starting again. I personally think it's done here, but now I can't be certain!! Could the high level cloud from the remnants of the showers potentially form storms around here?

I suspect Chris has hit the nail on the head with this.

Yet seemingly all the clag didn't  have an impact on the storms over the far N of England or Peterborough.

EC has done poorly today, especially with the forecast thundery activity over Wales and SW England, I agree with others... I thought the clag from last nights activity over SW England has acted as a major dampener in places so far. Though the EC did pick up on that cell near the Wash and the potent stuff over Cumbria and Northumberland.

Whereas yesterday I was cautiously optimistic I'm not feeling as encouraged today admittedly... but there is still time!
