At Hope Epilepsy charity.xmas part at Oaklands Hall Godley.

After wading through the carpark,  we left the foul weather and entered the world of Harry Potter.  All the props and scenery were hand made by volunteers.

Tree down in Hartford,I thought a Tornado was going through.

Yeah, outside the Red Lion I believe. I've read that it caught the back of someone's car as it came down. There were certainly some vicious gusts a couple of miles down the road here.

It'd have been quicker for EZY18NE just to return back to Belfast, second go-around at Manchester after their 35 min hold over the Peaks.

Just been to Cheshire Oaks and some vicious gusts around there, needless to say the Ferris wheel wasn't running.

Lots of big twigs down on the road back, though nothing significant gust wise whilst driving but back home it seems to be worse again now.

Yellow weather warnings for rain and wind seem to be justified here.

Still gusting 55mph outside a little past 1am although they're not frequent gusts unlike earlier on where for a time it was a solid 1hr of non-stop sustained gales battering the rooftiles with chaos on the local roads from localised flooding, fallen tree's, & branches. Hopefully with the wind & rain abating i'll finally be able to get some kip.

Things certainly calmer outside, quite a mild feel of 6°C at 6.10am. My fence panels appear to still be in situ.  Max last night of 9.2°C.

@itsnowjoke I really hope the little furry fella turns a corner, our pets are so precious.

I watched the Channel 5 programme about Christmas 81.  Will be on Catch Up from now on.   Nice to see interviews with former TV weathermen.  I remember the many days of glorious blue skies and wonderful "Alpine" conditions, feeling warm in the sun and then sudden temp drop end of day to deep cold.  Coincided with school holidays, so our children played out all day, every day.  Sledging of course but also building many igloos which lasted until early January.   😉

I watched the first hour of the programme about Christmas 81. A rehash / retitling of a programme which was shown earlier in the year but still interesting. I'll watch the last half-hour tonight.

I was surprised how late the wind gusted last night. A lot calmer this morning and some early rain has given way to a dry and occasionally bright spell. More rain this evening and overnight it seems, and another yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for this period.

It feels like it has rained all weekend here and any drier interludes have been various levels of gloom.

Give me cold and clear any day of the week.
