Well it's an awesome day here so far, manage to get some strimming done. This may has been really quite good so far with only 3mm so far and if high pressure dominates for the majority of the month, it could be exceptionally dry in these parts.

Absolute washout here. Dull, dark, wet and cool. Grim.

At least Saturday and yesterday were dry and mostly sunny (in my area anyway).

CryoraptorA303 I think I’ve just become jaded by all the rain. It all seems to merge into one.

 Wade don’t you mean ‘managed?’

16c, Mainly cloudy, although the sun is trying to poke its way thru the clouds.

Looks like a rash of showers on its way, to reach here, around 6 this eve.

2 days of gales and heavy rain coming up here..also the possibility of a record low pressure reading for the time of year ..going to go out and purchase some waterproof trousers

Looking at the forecast for this upcoming high pressure spell, I can't help but worry that this could be a 'cloudy' high, until Friday at least.  Is anyone else worried about this, or do we think the met office forecast will turn sunnier as the week goes on?

This seems to be the forecast not just here but other areas of the UK too.

SummerShower oh I don’t doubt it at all. We’ve had about 4 legitimately sunny days since the nice spell in October ended. I’m just looking forward to hopefully being able to ditch the winter coat for a few days!

The regional variation is quite notable this past week or so. I can't remember a time where there were such extreme differences between places so close, for such an extended spell too. Looks like evening out from tomorrow onwards though. Finally a proper break. Not looking beyond Sunday I refuse to let myself be filled with dread while it's so nice out. (I did look, it did fill me with dread).

It’s sunny spells here in Exeter with two passing rain showers so far today.

Hoping we have more sunshine tomorrow and Wednesday than the met office are forecasting on their video forecasts even if it’s high cloud

does here, more constant lightish rainfall than massive stormy bursts that you'd more expect to see in the autumn months.

🙄🙄 Is that so? 10mm here in SE London… heavy pulses mixed in this rain.

stainesbloke Its the season when i can actually start to smell again, 3 to 4 months of pollen allergies kills my smell, for me the lovely autumnal smell and feel is heaven. The summer stench is both the heat coupled with the misery the season brings for myself due to having basically a 3 month cold every year. Hate it.

Its just as comparable to your issues with the cold and the health issues it causes yourself.

Very regional today it seems. This neck of the woods has done well over the last few days and we're now on the third consecutive day of pleasant spring weather. It's currently 19 Celsius, dry and sunny spells. So no moaning from me. ⛅

My weather app said light rain stopping in an hour six hours ago now. It’s been raining moderately all day nearly. Absolutely revolting. Right up there with some of the worst days of spring I’ve ever seen.

A lovely day up until around 3pm when it started to rain on and off. However since 5pm we've had heavy rain with thunder & lightning.

Been a grand day on the Yorkshire Wolds, similar to yesterday, sunny morning followed by cloud in the afternoon, 17°c and dry, no complaints.

Looks as though the pivoting of the bands of rain may end up with another spell of moderate rainfall for us later. I imagine some rather big totals in this area today.

Heavy continuous rain for the last hour now with the road outside like a river and gardens resembling ponds.
