Places up and down the east are already recording 15-16c. From Northolt in London to Newcastle.

You know it's been a carp spring when people are excited over the prospect of reaching temps in the high teens at the end of April.

Another awful day in what has to be the dullest April I've ever known, this one has made 2012/2013/2018 seem sunny. 12-21 April wasn't that bad. Average temperatures by day, mostly dry, and decent sunshine. The rest of this month can go straight in the bin it's been dire!

Feb had 54% sunshine, 184% rainfall.

Mar had 69% sunshine, 199% rainfall.

Apr has had 64% sunshine (not getting any more today) and 122% rainfall (almost certain to reach 130 by the evening)

I never thought I'd be saying this but spring 2023 actually looks good compared to this. Still yet to record a temperature above 18c this year 2/3 through spring! All this after the wettest Jul - Dec since 1890. The last month here to record over *120* hours of sunshine was June. Bar is on the floor. Still, at least it will be mild next week!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃

WHEN WILL IT END!

In Absence of True Seasons nice, everything looks better in the sun.

Now falling into single digits as we approach midday... you know it's a good day when the daily high is reached at 6am!

Happy for those in the east, it's been equally dull there this year so they deserved their turn with some good weather.

It's reached 18c already. Wonder if we can squeeze a 20c out of today....?

Alderc 2.0 I respect your preference of that absurd temperature and I ain't gonna guilt trip you but I am not sure how anyone can want mid 40's anywhere let alone in this country, I'd rather have 12 months of rain tbh but that's just me

Wade Days of 40c+ is incredibly hot, and I say that as someone who can tolerate heat well.

I've experienced it a few times - Dubai, Egypt, and Seville. Luckily I was on holiday for all of those, in shorts and a linen shirt or just in swimming trunks by the pool/beach sipping on an ice-cold beer. That's quite a different context from having to live and work in such heat.

Sun Chaser shame we cannot simply all enjoy decent conditions together. If the west gets lucky, the east suffers, if we fare better, then the west gets the dross.

Not everyone's cup of tea but I'd love if the summer was predominately sunny, cool and dry with max temps around 17-21C, minima around 7-10C. Something like June 2013, July 2011, August 2009. That said, I wouldn't mind if a few days went into the mid 20s for a taste of warmth.

It looked like a nice sunny day west of me so took the dog up to London for a few hours of sunshine. Pretty much completely clouded over by noon unfortunately and now on way back home lol. Surprised people are raving over today, yesterday was far better with sun most of the day. Back home (Southend area) is even worse with 100% cloud cover since 8am lol.

Bit of a breeze, but other than that perfect for late April today, 17C sunny.

It depends where you live. Over here, we’ve still got blue skies, with not a single cloud in the sky. For central areas and the spine of the country, it’s been a very good day thus far.

SunSean Yeah very regional. Progressively cloudier as the day goes on here in London, which is the opposite of yesterday which actually cleared as the day went on and became full clear with just a few wisps by mid to late afternoon.

Back to BAU tomorrow and Thursday.

SunSean not a cloud in the sky this morning. Some cloud has bubbled up now but still decent sunny spells.

Cloudy, windy, 15c.

Rain expected early eve, which has stopped me grouting the patio this afters. Bizarre i know, but i hope it damn well chucks it down this eve/night, so it justifies my decision, otherwise i'll get 'earache from within'😉😁.

Frigid That would rule out being able to enjoy the evenings if it got that cold at night.

14-15c low is ideal, that way it's still around 18-20c at midnight.

I wouldn't consider June 2013, July 2011 and August 2009 particularly sunny either.
