Expecting a cooler, drier March compared to February.. however I wouldn't be surprised if it turned quite mild due to SE winds.

Going for 7.2C and 72mm. Thanks

May change this tomorrow, but I'm going to repeat my February guess in anomaly terms. That was 1.7C above the 1994-2023 average for temperature, and 80% of the rainfall. Seems reasonable to err on the mild side given recent history, and I feel like we're due a drier month, but unlikely to be overly dry.

That makes 8.4C for CET, 53.8mm for EWP.

I don’t follow the logic! Modelling not looking mild really. I think it’s likely March will be cooler than Feb…

Daniel* There's no particular reasoning to go either mild or cold, to be fair - the mean on most ensembles is hovering near the 30-year average. I'm just using recent history to say that mild is more likely than cold.

Not going to say any more on here as I know Roger has said in the past it makes it harder to read through and collate the predictions, but if you want to talk more about prospects for March I'm happy to chat on the Spring thread or elsewhere.

Expecting a rather non-descript month overall, quite near average sunshine, rainfall wise. Some lengthy chilly conditions at times, outside chance of more substantive cold should we pull in a cold easterly by mid month. Good chance it will be colder than Feb but not by much, 7.5 degrees my guess. Slow moving trough features at times.
