Jonnoramo87 Never. From here on in every single month will be below average, until eventually we end up with no sunshine ever again, after which to be below average would require negative sunshine.

😉

So another day with nil sun, by the looks of things, and a deterioration since early morning with thickening cloud and lowering light levels. To be honest I was sceptical of sunshine due to the wind being SW-ly rather than straight S-ly or SE-ly.

Surprisingly though little rain overnight, the forecasts were suggesting there would be a period of quite heavy rain overnight but hasn't happened.

In some ways this system is reminding me a little of ex-hurricane Ophelia, though without the red skies.

A lot more cloud than forecast today. Hazy, milky sunshine this morning is now pretty much full on cloud cover. Feels warm but that breeze takes the edge off it. 19c currently.

It’s going to feel so strange when we get our first long period of sun and warmth isn’t it, that’s how overall dull it’s been for so long. Question is when

Woke up with snow yesterday morning, today is a tropical 13c and it feels warm out there. Quite a turn around. The warmth feels quite nice.

Had sunny spells first thing but now it’s totally clouded over and the wind has picked up. Doesn’t feel as warm now, either.

Last year's weather again, how depressing. Warm but cloudy hazy dross that bores the heck out of me.

Oh it's brightening up a bit. I have bright cloud and watery sun. Wow this is very lucky.

johncam I should do. Tons in the garden to do. Looks blinking windy though. I'm really tired too. I'm on a come down from the stress of mil's house. Always exhausts me after.

TheOgre I never expect sunshine any more. I threw in the towel on that a month ago. Feel better for it. Just wake up and expect cloud every day and what's what I get. So I'm never disappointed anymore. Much better for my mental health over all.

Jonnoramo87 NEver. Don't do it to yourself

It's currently sunny here in Worcs, albeit very windy, so I really hope things improve for those of you in more sun-starved regions!

ETA: and literally as I post that the sun goes in!

Unexpected brightening and now it's quite pleasant... so I take back my earlier comment about zero sun. Could be the best day since Monday.

With the thickening and darkening cloud this morning I was fully expecting the front to be quite active and a period of rain to pass through during the middle part of the day. It's certainly been typical of late...

As it happens Storm Kathleen has been the weakest system of the month, so far.

Sunny but very breezy, but feels more like an early summer breeze as it's not particularly cool.

Days like this aren’t that common this early in spring but I remember the last weekend of March 2014 being quite similar in London. Bright and warm but windy! That time, a southeasterly.

Mapantz You must have, because the long terms accurately predicted a wet and mild storm track barrage aside from February where it did start wanting high lat, but it got more of it right than the mid-terms which had horrendous accuracy.
