Hi all

Some fantastic pictures at the NASA Looking at Eart site of RITA

http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/lookingat...h2005_rita.html

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Excellent how it shows the 3 main pics of Rita

1. Forming

2. Mid Flow

3. Full flow

Anyone reckon Cat 3 may have been premature? No sooner did they downgrade when recon found 129kt winds. The central pressure has actually dropped a tad and the satellite presentation has dramatically improved in the past 3 hours.

I just thought, doesn't the coldness of the upper cloud tops have a direct influence on storm intensity? in the recent weakening period we lost all the 'blues' (outflow from the top of the eye?) off the SW sat image (GOES) which, over the past hour and a half have started flowing out again and in a more regular shape.....'thar she blows'

Did we have a 1mb drop in pressure on the last advisory release?

No Ryan 5am USA time will be 9am our time don't set alarm you won't see anything.  Only hurricane force winds

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I may actually be wrong ... Isnt that area in central time??? If so it is 6 hours behind us ... so that makes it actually nearer 9-930am ...

Yeah, It wouldn't suprise me it being a 4 by morning, though I think it will stay 3.

Drag will soon be taking it toll too.

Once and for all i have three news links running on com abc13, 11 news and one other.  All have clock on the screen.  All say 4.19pm so we are now 10.19pm so that makes them 6 hours behind us hope that clears all missunderstanding up!
