Fine snow falling since seven this morning. Still snowing but the flakes have got bigger and the wind has got up. Everywhere looks beautiful.

Still snowing here, just measured in the garden and its just over 2" deep. Snow has been continuous with some heavy big flurries and the rest gently falling. So lovely to see.

Snow arrived in Rotherham in the thin band at the front of the main band of precipitation. Sufficiently heavy to provide a full 1cm - 1.5cm covering. This is a bonus as forecasters had not predicted snow to start falling here until midday, with the heavier stuff later on. Will take my 10mth old daughter out to experience it for the first time in a little while. Temps interestingly at 2.1C. Snow currently stopped.

Started snowing here in Lichfield at about 6.30am. Small flakes but now intensity has increased. Been snowing continuously and I estimate the depth currently at 2in. If this continues all morning (according to the forecast) then we could get 4in+ hopefully! Pretty winter wonderland. Pics to follow later. :drinks:

Looked out just before 6am this morning (Thurs 8/2) and the lovely covering of snow was starting to melt already, I could hear the dreaded drip drip sound. By 9am it was all slush on the higher ground where I live. Once at work near Hove seafront by 9.30am there was no evidence of any snow at all.

Been snowing here since 7AM. Just about dying out, been very light and notstuck anywhere....Booooo....Nice to see it though.

I sometimes wonder if we live in the same town?!

Covering here on all surfaces, the snow actually was quite moderate although it has eased and the snow cover has actually melted largely.

We have over 5" here and it's still coming down ....... It's the most snow I've seen since I was in the Cairngorms in Jan 1994! Taken a 'snow day' to enjoy it :drinks:

Got my earlier prediction of no snow for Lowestoft completly wrong.

My house is on a cliff facing the North Sea, and the strong easterly wind

is turning the heavy snow into blizzard conditions. Sadly not settling, the salt from the sea puts pay to that.
