What are current temperatures like in the region now?

I have noticed a gradual rise over last 2 hours albeit small.

temp at 5-6pm was -2c

Now it has made it to the dizzy heights of -0.9c

Since starting up around 2PM, the snow now finally appears to be easing off here in Poole. Watching the radar this afternoon made fantastic viewing as the near stationary snow band rotated over the top of us! Totals for today are around 2 inches early this morning and a further 3-4 this evening.. about the best day snowfall wise I think I can recall for this area (well as far back as about Feb 91 I expect). The main precipitation blob is still rotating but appears to be edging gradually WNW. As for tomorrow, the hills north of Blandford are where I'd like to go... but the office is probably where I'll end up :)

I don't mean to rub it in but I have never seen such perfect snow since I was a munchkin about 30 years ago.

Perfectly soft with a crunchy edge to it, not slippy. Just pure play in the snow, snow. I have just been out in my PJs and wellies. :wallbash:

Have just been out for a drive, and found the following:

A4069 Mountain Road at Brynamman (Ascending to 520m) impassable at Upper Brynamman (300m).

Betws - Morriston mountain road (340m) - Serious accident due to the snow. Involves several cars on one of the higher passes - one of which is dangling over the mountain edge. Road closed and impassable.

Felindre - Garnswllt road closed

Almost all minor and residential roads impassable in northern Carmarthenshire due to ice and snow. I was stupid enough to drive along a minor road at trap in the direction of Gwynfe, was stranded at the bottom of a small hill. It took an hour, lots of grit and shovelling and a ruined clutch to turn back.

It's still rotating around yeovil and still coming down steadily.

It's been -1.1c for the last 3 hours here!

I reckon I might have another hour or so worth of snow from this and then it's hoping the rotation brings in more showers later in the night.

-3 Deg C persistent light snow.

I'm not sure if this is heavy enough to take control of the grit that's bounced on the paths? I doubt it would be much different tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll see.

Whats the overnight forecast for South Wales? Are we expecting some good snowfalls? Snowing lightly here now for last hr, light dusting on floor, nothing major yet.

How is it in Cardiff? Still snowing?

Is there a possibility this could just continue over us all nite?
