Whereabouts exactly are you because here actually in Colchester not far from town there is around an inch of powdery snow

5 Miles north of town - level snow here doesn't even cover my little finger nail (and i am fully grown too)

That made me really laugh! :D No snow grains doesn't count it has to be flakes that have a chance of accumulating before I'm old and grey! :D

sounds like you've more than here in Chelmsford :D

I've a front wheel drive car so not too bad - but it has Limited slip diff - which sounds useful in the snow - but it just goes bonkers !

Be careful! I just wish it wasn't an important time of the month at work or I'd be skiving tomorrow :D

Hopefully you'll catch some of what we just had, although it's calmed down a bit now... Late night I think!

So if the winds are pulling round to the north is that going to help us in east kent pushing the showers down onto us instead of across into central kent??

how long has it been snowing heavy in falmer how much has settled?

From 2pm till 6pm only lightly and didn't settle much and then on and off since about 7 or 8, heavy. I think about an inch and a half here.

Near Queens Park. Top of Elm Grove towards racecourse. Very big flakes and really starting to pile up :-)

Stopped here now. Although the next shower should be here soon. :D

For those complaining about snow grains blowing in the wind.....that's all we had for much of the day, but the last three hours have seen decent snow showers with markedly little wind. Hope that you guys find that's what's going to happen for you.

One or two flakes in the very strong wind, but thats it :whistling:

i just can't understand it, the models, graphs, radar, everything looked set, but it just hasn't happened.

It's certainly not that now - big fat flakes and getting heavier
