Bus went past here only about 10 minutes ago. :)

Looks like college is cancelled then, I'm not going to be able to get anywhere near it for a start.

I really cannot understand what is happening to Paul, all my snow is coming from his direction, and im only about 25miles away, some kind of evil shield is at work here.

All inner/outer London buses have been recalled. There will be buses around. They will go straight to their depot if it is safe to do so

Well we finally have some west of Portsmouth, down on the south coast,

even woke "the kids" (20 & 25!)

around 10cm so far, and still falling, though ice crystals as apposed to the palm sized flakes of 63!

Is off the bed a happy bunny!

When can I expect to my first proper Snowflake and whats all this about the BBC Showing Rain Symbols over Essex Tomorrow :)

I reckon the bbc charts are way off the mark. The gfs, while it doesnt necessarily pick up all the showers off the north sea, tends to get ppn bands roughly right. And it says that everyone down to southampton is going to be involved, yet the bbc maps show the ppn skirting the south eastern corner and leaving out central southern areas entirely. Which has got to be wrong (I hope and pray). I need to be as close as possible to the epicentre...

Slight to moderate snow here in showers, perhaps 1 to 2 cms - temp about -2.5C, Breezy but no drifting, snow, say medium consistancy, not dry or powdery but not slushy either.

Just call us at Watford, Cinderella!

Just had a walk around outside when the snow had eased off a little to take some pictures. It's lovely out, but I wish I'd worn wellies - the bottom of my trousers got soaked.

I lost my satellite signal, so have spent the past 20 mins throwing snowballs at the sky dish to try and get the signal back.

Took a while 'cos it is on a distant chimney, but got there in the end.

What Fun!

By the way, having to recharge my camera battery, but think i have some nice pics of snow in central London.

For the snow starved in other areas visting this thread (like me!) I can highly recommend the snow entertainment that is traffic webcams at http://www.trafficengland.com/TCC/.

Click the link to view motorways on the left, then select something like the M25, the M23 or the M20, remember to tick for webcams in the checkboxes, and away you go. Last time I looked, the M25 was getting a pasting somewhere around J9. Look for where the traffic is moving slowly

There's no option to select cameras.

Yes, it's around 3/4 inches. Best snow I've seen in years, usually we get 20 minutes of dust and anything that settles turns to a grey sludge within an hour, but walking up to the main road I could feel that proper snow 'crunch'.
