heavier area to the west of us but the speed at which is now moving is the biggest prevention of any real depth accumulation. Road now getting covered again.

it is a worry , however on my radar it may have a punch as the front moves through as it looks like intensifying on the back edge (reds showing up on the image) my sister in law in luton says they are getting plastered which is not a suprise as the radar shows red graphics moving across the Chilterns. Mean while up north my brother in sheffield says they have moderate falls and around 2cm.

Here in lincs its just starting to crank up, but with the speed its moving from west to east i think totals given by the BBC of 5-10cm (15cm Locally) could be way off the mark.

also interestingly is more PPN moving across mid Ireland moving west to east.

Light sleet from earlier quickly turned to moderate snow... getting heavier all the time now. Starting to add to the cover we have kept over the last week or so!

UPDATE

we have a light dusting now here on the coast, moderate light snow falling. radar looks like giving us at least a few hours before clearing from behind, however looking at the intensing ppn in ireland at the moment and looking to see if that grows still further as the night draws on.

Radar now looks very interesting for Sheffield.

Bloody hell, just looked out of the window..there's tonnes of the stuff falling up here. How long do you think it will keep up for?

fantastic now, this is heavy snow, car, garden and roads white over. 3RD snowfall event in 6 days here, judging by the models next week this winter is now starting to shape up nicely. If it freezes tonight going to fun again tommorrow.

Lokks like the band is intensfying so should get heavier as it moves further east.

The snow is falling steadily in Louth now -cars and grass now getting covered but the roads aren't. Still another episode in what is unfolding as a pretty impressive winter.
