Are they expecting much for Croydon then?

The 9 flakes of snow have stopped here for the minute!

About 2-5cm

 A near neighbour here and can confirm its SNOWING and settling! Fine miniscule flakes but its snow and exactly as we know it Jim!

Hi Kaaren,

Nope, not settling here, I'm just on the boarder of Greater London, although quite high up. But, if it gets heavier, maybe it will settle.

BBC 24 hour forecast updated to light snow in London starting 1800. Turning to heavy snow overnight before a period of light rain.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?world=0008

Their 5 day forecast is not that reliable. It's been that way for years :shok:

Any snow coming down in Norfolk or Suffolk?

Don't worry about the temp. Even at 5c it can still snow. It depends on the upper temps. The temp will drop slightly anyway.

The 'A' roads should be ok due to the continuous flow of traffic, but they will be gritted to be on the safe side. There will be a ground frost later on , so the gritting be be handy.

Side roads may experience a few cms of snow.

The MetO are going to release an updated weather warning within the hour

Temp is now 3c and it's still snowing here

I'm heading back home to near Framlingham tonight, so i'm wondering the same. I won't be back until 10 pm or so, so could be tricky by that time.

My netweather radar is saying rain for me but its definitely snow.... I've just been out to check! Its actually getting a bit heavier as I type.

Anyone else having this problem?

Blizzard conditions here, a total whiteout.

The local council have just called out the National Guard (amazing because I didn't think we had a National Guard) to help clear the fluffy flakes from Mrs. Matthew's Gnome's noses. It's total chaos here, one old guy reckons that he hasn't seen such severe conditions as this since the time Mount Vesuvis erupted.

If you go by the NW Snow forecast charts (and why wouldn't you at this range?) it will be all over and done with for the greater part by 3.00am. In the meantime.......

I can see one or two Mummies and Daddies playing snow ball fights in areas of the SE late tonight <_<
