But the thi9ng is Weathercoxy this evening's storms are almost an unexpected prelude to the main event. Just a few days ago the first thundery risk wasn't until tomorrow evening! Can you not enjoy an event without getting hit spot on? By enjoying cloudscapes & radar watching top see how other areas have been affected.

An example - not a drop of rain here this evening, but it's been great to see how storms have developed elsewhere, a real learning opportunity to see about storm behaviour. Right now there's a shower 5ish miles East of here which has been fluctuating in intensity for nearly an hour as it's edged this way - it may explode, it may not, but there will be reasons to look for either way.

Not having a pop at you, I hope a major storm outbreak hits the whole West Country!

I can see lightning from the cell to the South of me, and hear thunder.

Somebody over Brean, Burhnam way must be getting a good show.

Hi Andy, its been a while!! Its great to sit out and watch the line of cells barely skim past me to my North. Very dark under those bases so more torrential rain towards Bridgwater again.

Everything has run about 5 miles to my south so far, but a Cb getting closer now, things look to be calming at the minute around here.

Actually I think I might just have a heard a very distant rumble.

(and apologies for first two out of focus, forgot I'd switched the camera to manual focus last time I used it!)

Same here, possibly the same one. The thunder is gradully getting louder so just live in hope mate. We've still got excellent chances and so long as I can hear thunder I'm happy. As the evening goes on it will become easier to see lightning.

Very dark to my south and have heard about 5-10 very very faint rumbles. Could just hear them in the back garden.
