Expect tomorrow to go mammaries up big style. Once the words "thundery rain" were mentioned I decided...thats it..no chance now. Quite staggering really for this hot spell to fail to deliver on the storm front for so many of us. Of course I could be completely wrong but I dont expect to be.

As for the "embedded storms" rot...pah! yeah right...they'd be embedded storms the size of a pinhead yes?

Think I'll be moving to Florida...at least I'll see something then!

Its back to 31c right now but trust me, we have reached 32c in the sunshine and the temperature sensor is not in the sun or anything!

Trust me it is 32 here now and it is boiling!

I hasten to add yet again, at least most Central/Western areas have got reasonable chance tomorrow - spare a thought for the areas showing currently 0% risk with little/no CAPE/LI expected either!

So if you are complaining now, please don't - complain tomorrow at 9pm if nothing has arrived

EDIT: Well, spare a thought for areas showing currently 15% risk lol

Ok I believe you  it is very hot though so wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in the Mids reeached 30C or 31C, though the humidity may make it seem the air temps are very high.

Anyway, look at those cells in the NE, the forecaster on BBC really emphasising the word 'Intense' and that some places are seeing tremendous amounts of rainfall in short spaces of time.

XC Weather shows the Midlands and some of the SE is hottest now.

I hate it when i hear the words 'Thundery Rain' because nothing ever happens!

Lots of rumbles coming in from this now, watching the dark area for ground strikes.

There also appears to be a new CB forming to my southwest which will hit me directly, heres hoping it also becomes electrified.

Yes, TIM B, Darwen. I heard distant rumbling SE direction. Can see huge towering mass of thundercloud over there. I'd guess Rossendale way.

Watching some nice convection taking place over north wales at present. Just the beginnings of an anvil taking shape. Fingers crossed for no 2 storm after last nights bonus

Good to see the storm lovers in my native Tyne & Wear coastal area getting some big ones, it's about time really. After all, the 1993-2008 mean annual thunder frequency for Cleadon (according to my records) is 7 days per year- i.e. the area may not get many storms but it still gets the odd one from time to time.

It might be my turn in Exeter tonight and early tomorrow as the GFS outputs show an intense zone of convective precipitation moving through the area and the storms are already visible over France and the Channel.

Very lucky for most east of the pennines to get any storms actually.

Very much on the edge of things here, with no lightning seen and mostly light rain.

Bowland is to my northwest, about 10 - 20 miles. It leads to Morcambe.
