Agreed.

The problem at sea level is the dew points are just above freezing which indicates rain/sleet to start with and any snow will likely be wet and probably not stick.

Anything around 150 feet should be snow.

The colder air is digging in quickly behind the front however, and if it catches up, it could be snow for all.

Bitterly cold today and its hard to believe it wouldn't be snow for all.

My thinking on this would be along the same lines Mountain Shadow, I fancy we will see an upgrade of this tonight

Getting light snow here in Antrim. Still snow lying on the ground from last nights showers. Hopefully something a bit heavy later

Great stuff - keep the reports coming in! Dry as a bone here in Bangor and pleasantly sunny :)

High risk of severe weather for Northern areas on Sunday :unknw:

Minimum was 1.1c last night

Currently 3.0c

Expecting it to get to around 3.5-4c today, with a 0c wind chill.

Looks like the sea warmth is starting to reduce now.

I'm at 57m, so hopefully I'm high enough to avoid any sleet and have snow.

Hi all. Was nice to get a half day from work today. Made it home in time for the lunch time forecast. Loved the fact that Angie mentioned that Derry and Antrim would be worst affected come Sunday. We have had very light snow falling in Derry for the past 2 hours which is nice to see. I think sunday could be a special day with at least 10cms for my area. Lastest radar looks godd to.

Sat night into Sunday looks great for North East N. Ireland. Could see a good covering of snow. It is still snowing away although very light. Showers coming in off Irish sea.

The light snow has started here, just the odd flake floating in the wind. Cloud increasing from the Northeast and getting dark in that direction.

permanent frost here all day. overnight low of 0f -5.7c. not snowing yet but very dark ominous clouds pushing down from the north since late afternoon. whats interesting is how cold the air is. it is 100: cloud covered and temp is falling not rising,, -0.5c. anyway cheers to everyone who is getting snow and long may it last all winter.

Is there some sort of front trying to form now over Ireland moving south?

Looks interesting if you run the last few radar shots.

Thats seems to be happening alright. Hope it heads this way
