Sorry if this is a stupid question but where is all this snow thats ment to hit on the radar? because there doesnt look that much coming into the East the moment unless its ment to form out of no where later??

Because one band to the south is moving past the SE out in the channel towards France and the other to the north of that looks like its heading North not south?

think its on way .

latest update from the MET

Updated: 1726 on Thu 17 Dec 200BC

South West England:

Gloucestershire

Swindon

Wiltshire

Heavy Snow Thu 17 Dec

There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting some parts of England. Rain showers will turn increasingly to snow, especially during the late afternoon and evening. Accumulations of 2 to 5cm are likely.

Just got back in from a course in cheltenham, and it's bitterly cold out there once that breeze drops of temps around here are going to fall rapidly.

Saying that it's already 0.5c outhere coupled with the windchill it feels more like -5ccold.gif

I saw that a couple of snow showers that filtered inland earlier just skirted chelts and tewks, but there was some of the white stuff down the road in gloucester albeit brief.

I can't wait to see the main forcast later on bbc hopefully it will firm things up a bit more.

Someone remembers me? Yay. Hehe I've been stalking for a few weeks but haven't had anything postworthy, but potential snow always is. Still nothing here.

Been watching the radar animations and the small line of showers that passed through here at 4pm have really pepped up and are definitely snow not a mix of snow and soft hail further south. Forming big clumps now too, like the one currently around Merthyr Tydfil.

For anybody inSouth Dorset Poole, Bournmouth etc the latest METO 12Z precip chart is rather nice, it also shows an increased chance of precip elsewhere early morning tomorrow onwards as the centre of the low gets closer to us before slipping off south.

Had a nice surprise to some light snow on the way home from town , only just finished, quite grainy type snow but snow none the less.

temp is 2c with dewpoint of -2c.

Hopefully we will have more to come tommorow and over the weekend, next week looks marginal though

Excellent, we're right on the sleet/rain border again like the last 2 nights in Dorset :D:D:nonono: !

Ive got a feeling we might get a decent amount in East Dorset tonight. Can smell it in the air! - Fingers Crossed
