The precipitation from the low in the SE is already around 40 miles west of where it was progged to be at 21:00 on the 12z GFS. I've got a feeling the 18z will be an upgrade for the West Country.

12z GFS Precip:

ukprec.png

Compare this with the 20:00 met office radar.

If that low keeps developing on its north side we could be in luck.

Hope you're right KQ. 'Cause i'm getting fed up with this non-event for us in BTL and the West!wallbash.gif

All the action at the mo is happening on the SE England thread!

I think it is possible but i wouldnt like to get my hopes up really. I already find this "cold" spell a painful experience. shok.gif

Current temp 0c, DP 4.7c, though as there is no PPN around I'm not gonna read much into it.

After a light grauple shower at 4pm today I still have confidence in the potential if any precip makes it this far. The video forecast on the BBC website got tantilisingly close but this could all change (either way)

I did have hope for tonight but tomorrow afternoon looks like being the best chance, though only showers I imagine.

I still think we are getting ahead of ourselves. Sure, the SE will probably have a couple of hours of snow which will make the area grind to a halt and fill the media with stupid headlines, but I'm looking forward to the new year and much better prospects.

I understand that but does an easterly wind not peg back the efects of the coast as it is not an on shore wind if you see what i mean?

Down to -2C here with a DP of -5C feeling nearer -8C in the wind.

So, chilly! No sign of any PPN though.

i know what your saying, but it really hasn't dropped that low. Beeb are only saying mins of -1 to -2c. So I guess by the time morning comes round I should be there or there abouts.
