Absolute blanket of snow here in Central London, but too wet to settle.

It is beginning to settle on roofs etc, but the ground is still too damp right now, but looks like Central London is about to get about 20 mins of heavy snow, so should make things interesting!

Does anyone know how long the band of snow will last over London?

Probably another 45 mins max.

Meteox radar at 4:30pm shows the PPN about 10 miles south of Cambridge

http://www.meteox.co...oom&x=254&y=206

Meteox is a reliable radar so I believe it is true in saying PPN is near here

Well I'm right under an area of really light precip in this band so there's only a few flakes and a bit of rain falling. 0.2c now, hopefully we'll get a heavier burst shortly.

its amazing that on thursday night we had about 6 hours of blizzards, but in the past 45mins more snow has settled than than whole of thursday night for this area. This is completely unexpected. I wasnt expecting anything thing more than sleety wet snow. There must be about 2-3cm's now. Everything is covered! And the roads havent been gritted.

It has been raining hard down here since 11.00 and it is raining harder now than at any other time today. I thought this would be dieing out by now. Some places are going to get loads of snow.

Lighter PPN here but is still snow!

But that is because the temp her is about 0c now and DP -1.1c.

Hopefully some more heavier stuff arrives soon.

Still hasnt arrived here yet, but due very very soon
