Finally turned to snow... now it's at the end of the band and too light to settle.

This is what is known in the gernaral population as a "P**S TAKE" map, showing how the whole of Britain has had a good snowey cold spell and the midlands has been poo'd upon yet again lol!!!

No as I said tomorrow will be around 4/5C. Very much doubt a few cms will remain.

Have to say these events don't really excite me. Having a few cms followed by a thaw isn't the same as what I experienced last week which was much more exciting.

Still rain is turning to snow here so the next few hrs should be interesting.

Flakes getting smaller but still pretty heavy. I am now satisfied with this cold spell :)

TEITS, where does it say 5c?

Snow is back here but it's not really getting a chance to stick.

Looking at this feature on the meto's charts, it looks as though it's going to move back out towards the irish sea at some point, wonder if that will pull that line of showers more westwards?

I just drove home from Redditch, and it took me 1.5 hours (15 miles)! The snowflakes were mahooooooosive, as in the palm of your hand size! We've got a couple of cm's at most. My friend was forced into a ditch in front of me when a car lost it's back end coming from the other direction. He had to swerve to avoid them and went into a tree, allbeit at slow speed fortunately. The other driver didn't even stop! Be careful out there if your driving people, lots of carefree idiots out there.Oh, and the METO got this completely wrong again.

still moderate snow here, now settling, probably around another 1-2 hours to come I'd say judging by the radar, very nice

stopped here now, lovely top up :-) though I am with TEITS and believe it will all be gone tomorrow, temps are due to pick up from tomorrow onwards - this actually backs what the GFS was saying at the start of the cold spell, that the breakdown would occur around Christmas eve. I am still happy though, really early in the winter and a good few days of lying snow, can't complain :-)

Lets be honest CH, if you've driven around, you will see know that the posted chart is untrue.

No as I said tomorrow will be around 4/5C. Very much doubt a few cms will remain.

Depends on your location Dave. Looks about the above for Cambs, but for places such as Warwicks. Derbys. and Staffs, looks more likely to be around the 2/3oC mark.

Not much difference really, but looks like where the confusion is coming from.
