My worry for me mark_f & Nick near stafford, is that the the heavier ppn is splitting off to the west & east of us, creating the potential for drizzle/slizzle as opposed to proper snow...I'm on tender hooks again, eyes on lamp post..lol

Good to hear. Whats the temperature and dew point there?

Sorry Isaac I have no idea I don't have a working weather station :D I only have the car and that shows 0c?! Its very wet snow but has covered everything you guys further north in the WM should do fine with this!

This is the first snow since Feb here. Had rain on Sat night when further north it was snow. It has been white over with frost and ice the last few days and in all honesty I didn't hold out much hope today after the ice melted and everywhere was wet and thawing out.

Just fired up the laptop as my last message was written on my ipod so I can contribute fully now - the mob version of NW doesn't show people's locations. Got one eye on this forum and the other on the lampost!

Still falling nicely :)

Snow now, no longer sleet. I have no idea of temp but I do know I'm quite high up at 178m asl.

I hope it stays a while, kids are getting excited!

Some big flakes yes not the biggest I've seen more like when they stick together.

Those worried about seeing only rain - that's exactlywhat happened here, literally just rain not sleet or even "wintry mix" but pure and simple bloody rain, be patient it will turn :yahoo:

If its snowing in Birmingham with temps of 1C then I can't wait till the heavier precip hits my region as its still -1C. Have you see the showers that follow the band of precip on the right flank!!
