Now it's snowing again.  Hopefully that was the brief warm front ahead of the real stuff

Fingers crossed then for you, TEITS and all of us Cambridgeshire residents :cc_confused:.

Here, it's alternating between snow and sleet, in fairly heavy bursts...

if the band gets as far south as me, got feeling it will be rain and sleet, temps and dew points just to high, but it will be interesting if it all freezsis on un treated roads later, plus any snow we get overnight

Looks like the airmass is somewhat marginal, esp given the time of day as well i'd imagine Icy toes so that may explain whats happening now sadly...the temps are marginal thanks also to the wind direction bringing in slightly more marginal air off the Irish Sea.

Of course precip strength once again will make a difference as well.

Yes, it's alternating between wet snow and sleet - even in the heavier bursts. Never mind - it was exciting to see some as it was unexpected. I'm looking forward to next week, though!

Heavy cloud coming across from the North West of me the blue sky is going fast. Woke up to a very frosty morning with what looked like a light dusting of icing sugar (very pretty).

The front page of the Telegraph is a bid dramatic today, that should get a few people out panic buying cold.gif

its still intensifying and effecting a wider area from 12 oclock radar!

Yeah but of course it does have to be noted the streamer is looking like its starting to weaken as the area of instablity slides southwards, this will cause the streamer to slowly weaken but it won't be a quick matter and places that have precip will probably see some more in the next few hours as well.

Sunny skies here, temperature 1c. Lots of ecitement in here for week ahead just wish I could be but I'm confused as to what's meant to be happening. Been talk of snow tonight/Sunday morning early. Yet only mention is of area way out to my East.

That said, it all sounds exciting for those in the right locations.... ;-)

Theres a band of snow over the North East at the moment that is expected to pull south tonight, and may give a few cm's in parts of the region, then the North Easterlies are pulled in behind it

Started snowing here too now :D

Just started snowing lightly after a clear sunny morning. It's amazing to think this is the reach of a Cheshire streamer right across the country.

Great GFS ensembles for our region. When upper temps are below -5C, most if not all PPN will fall as Snow:

Indeed, I'd sooner be at home enjoying the snow with my family, than being sat in the cab of a snowed-in bus somewhere or other :D

Looks like this is just a touch to north for here although it is clouding up

There's another band of ppn from the Cheshire Gap that is heading our way

It is gradually moving south too, but in doing so it loses it's supply through the Cheshire gap and as stated above will slowly fizzle out. Hopefully it can retain most of it's energy to give us a little bit of a covering, I'd estimate around 3-4pm at current rate :D
