Moderate snow here, radar seems to be subtly and slowly filling up round here to me. People have been talking about a thaw. Yeah some drips noticed here even at midnight, but this is the slowest thaw I've ever seen! If it carried on at this rate with no more snow it'll be here til february !!

I've got a plan, can we start a new forum called "Dorset Only" forum so that we never have to keep hearing about all the snow in every other city, town, village and County that gets snow except ussmile.gif

Yes I agree! We keep getting let down. Everytime they forecast heavy snow for us it always fizzles out.So disappointing!

Just out of the interest of science, could someone do a radar check on PL4 7QS if possible and let me see it? All radar's are saying it should be snowing, but it isnt at all, and has really for the last hour?

It will be quite funny to see a little gap all around me!

Paul

Thanks Buddy - Yeah, that is very much more accurate than the rain today radar - i would purchase a subsciption, but living in Plymouth, i would only really watch it once or twice a year!

Might head off to the moors in a bit.

Thanks, Paul

How does all the ppn come to be out west of us if it was supposed to be coming from the east ?? Well, light snow falling here anyway and a temp of 0.3C - yes above freezing for the first time since Tuesday! :(

Really?!?! But there's no new snow anywhere to be seen - not a sign of a dusting. Oh well, as Iceberg says, let's hope the convergence zones moves a little eastwards so it can pep up some of the ppn.

There is certainly a zone of convergency to the west of Chard and Bristol.

The question is will this spread eastwards ?. I've got a feeling it might as the moisture content rises.

Not only that but we're starting to see the upper front give a streamer-like formation out of the wash down to the bristol channel - 1000 and 850mB wind vectors certainly conductive of such a formation

Still alternating between light and moderate snow here but with the temp up to 1c not really settling on cars or bare roofs, just on top of the snow already on the ground

Dew points on the up too

The MetO have got this one badly wrong. Feel sorry for them as it's not easy, but funnily enough the GFS precipitation charts have been pretty damned good lately.

It is snowing so heavily. Fantastically beautiful sight.

Yup, its fascinating how Devon seems to be getting better and better snowfalls despite constant focus to the east eh!

Love it. Hardly anything in Kent over night apparently, after putting the army on standby.

-2.8C here. Which ties in with the bigger flakes of snow as they get to sick together.

Amazing BBC forecast!

Complete turn around on everything...

Higher temps...

Rain around coasts..

Hardly any snow...

Night temps much higher...

Last night all the above were oposite!

And once again completer confusion, arguements, and disagrement in the model output thread!

best stuff just keeps missing south bristol by yards . wallbash.gifrolleyes.gif

Im underneath it on the radar..very very light.
