Made a brief return to this forum for the next two days.

I predict heavy rain ,sleet in upper Swansea maybe one proper snow flake for me in Tycoch.

I hope i am stupidly wrong and if there is to be a mega event ,then feel free to ridicule me as much as you like, even now if you like.

One last Hurrah.

Here comes the summer!

When is it likely to slow down? It's coming in fairly quickly looking at the Satellite

It's not, it's going to steam in all the way upto Leicester and then stall for about 2 days and give us 2 feet of snow, have you not seen the latest forecast?

Just joking of course :(

Im dreading summer, rain rain and more rain probably

nope - blocking highs will continue leading to a scorching summer - from the mouth of Joe B on accuweather - then back into the freezer next year - but this winter ain't over by a long way yet

By the time it reaches the Midlands it weakens as it's lost it's energy source, the sea - going on the BBC charts.

The further south and west you are, the heavier the precipitation, generally... snow or not. B)

Hmm I don't know what to think finalLy the temp is below freezig and the slight thaw has stopped still have a good covering but you know around wals etc its thawed and there are bare patches the more the snow has been untoched the longer its lasting naturally because there are no holes to the ground. I don't know what my take is on tomorrow I've been so disappointed by setups like this in the past 2 years and therefor my head is saying I will again, So i will not be content, And if it starts off light it wont stick imedietly onto ground the snow has thawed and therefore will dampen the floor more and make further snow harder to lie so its going to be painstaking to watch through and therefore I'm not going to take anything for granted.

Tommorow is going to be nasty here the South Wales Valleys and Northern Cardiff are still under a good few inches of snow and were expecting the most here, a futher 20cm here and its going to be over a foot laying snow never mind drifts!

Temperture here at the moment = -0.9c(falling)

I hate to be the pessimist, but my hunch (and I know nothing about weather forecasting...) is for a few snow showers in mid wales, some heavy, most light-moderate.

We may have a foot of snow in places, measured horizontally, across the ground (as opposed to vertically...)

Sorry, but I can't help but thinking bbc and sky are both downgrading the snow slower than they really should.

As said, I'm no expert, far from it. If I'm right, then I won't be dissapointed. If I'm wrong - wahey it's snowtime!!!!!!!!!

Good night all. No lampost watching for me tonight.

that's alright mate - I wish there was - but I got my lovely car back today - it was a flippin towing eye which in the olden days the towing link would have been built into the car but now the flippin thing can be easily lost so, when you need it, it's not there - so I managed to get one from bridgend independent volvo specialists - and got the car out (with the aid of the farmer) so I won't ever mention it again ok chaps! - I feel so much better today for doing that.

I'd agree with that - got 1 and a half drifts here already from the last lot of snow so this stuff will be just piled on top - should think we'll be pushing towards 3ft drifts then!!!!!!!!!!

stay indoors and watch the snow pile up - coastal areas into wednesday morning may well start the switch to sleet etc but inland it will be a snowfest! as I've said - we already still have 1 and a half feet drifts and I think we might get to 3ft with this up here!

I've got my order in for a snowmobile (Volvo of course) - much more pratical with our NEW CLIMATE!!!!

Let's hope so! Looks pretty much nailed on for you mountain boys, anyway.

I'm pretty near the coast here, but do have a little elevation. Still pretty much full snow cover, mind. Looking better for tomrrow than it was, anyway.

Current temp a surprisingly low -0.7c.

Really? Temps have stuck at -0.2C for ages with these cloudy skies.

Is it expected to clear up before the front arrives? I can't see temps getting that low otherwise.
