Today had beautiful summery like weather. A strong cloudless afternoon and 22 degrees... Until this afternoon, where it clouded over and got humid... But it was a lovely interlude to the weeks of autumnal crap!!!

Kind of looking forward to the Sunday/Monday show and the madness that may follow!

Just got caught out in a very heavy shower, and looking out at the sky there could be another soon.

Edit: Yep, very heavy rain now!

Ouch, I hope Ronan doesn't get blown away in that one. I'm glad I am off Monday with the trees still in full leaf there will be quite a few branches blown down

It is for a while until you see the trampoline and tree house sailing merrily past your window .... memo to self strap down trampoline and place wife in tree house

Brilliant...

Idea I mean, not as a joke! clapping.gif

Highest gust I've seen so far is 55mph at Belmullet, so nearing the 100km/h mark already.

pressure reading of 988.0hpa this morning.

winds blowing quite strong already, fresh to strong with gale force gusts.

received 9.0mm of rain overnight in an already sodden soaked ground and possibly another 50mm in the next three days, flooding could be an issue.

met eirann warning of 60km/h-80km/h sustained winds with gust of 100-130km/hr. disruption, power outages and structural damage is a possibility.

remember its the duration of time that causes the damage, sustained winds of 60-80km/hr pounding on structures for 24hrs is dangerous, this rule also applies to hurricanes, the longer the duration, the worst damage will happen.

I agree with that Stormforce, looking like we could be in for another rerun next weekend if FI pans out as predicted
