Today

Expect heavy, thundery showers across eastern Britain with lots of showers too across most of France. Still hot and sunny weather prevails across Portugal and Spain and this extends eastward across the Balearics, into Sardinia, Italy, Greece and Turkey. A few heavy showers will develop across the Czech Republic today. One or two isolated showers across Romania area of most of Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece and the Ukraine, will be very warm and dry. One or two isolated showers develop across Poland, otherwise a dry day here and most of Germany will be fair and dry. Sweden will remain a bit cooler but largely dry and sunny as will the Baltic States. Most of Russia will be dry and sunny apart from some heavy showers in the south.

Much of the Adriatic region and the Balkans will also be dry with long sunny spells and this extends westward across Italy. Very warm, dry and sunny weather conditions will prevail from Portugal and Spain into the Balearics. Gale force easterly winds are forecast to be blowing through the Straits of Gibraltar. Rather windy down through the Aegean Sea towards the Greek Isles.

Further showers to come across Britain today with showers across northern France into The Low Countries with rain across eastern parts of Germany, dry in the west. Fine and sunny across much of central and southern France. Heavy rain to come across Austria and the Czech Republic with rain moving into the Adriatic Region. Mostly sunny and dry across Hungary, Poland, The Ukraine, Belarus, The Baltic States, Romania, Greece and Turkey. More cloud across today but dry. Patchy rain may linger across Sardinia with showers across eastern Spain into the Balearics. Much of Scandinavia is under high pressure which will keep it settled and dry.

Cloud and some outbreaks of thundery rain affecting the north of Spain today. A few showers through Portugal and more southern and central parts of Spain. Heavy showers could affect the Balearics, with some hefty showers for northern Italy too. Central and southern Italy should be drier and brighter with sunny spells here. A few showers across Greece and Turkey. Cloud and some outbreaks of showery rain in southern and southeastern France. Drier and cooler in central and northern areas. A cold and windy day in the Low Countries and northern Germany with some rain. More rain affecting Poland as well as through Austria and Switzerland. Broken cloud through central parts of Spain and Portugal giving a few showers here. Most of Iberia should be dry and sunny. A few showers through the Balearics. Heavy showers affecting the north of Italy, some merging to longer spells of rain. More southern parts of Italy will be dry with sunny spells. Dry in Greece and Turkey with more sunshine here. Fair for France and cooler than recently with sunny spells. A more unsettled, cool day in the Low Countries and Germany with cloud and rain, some of it heavy. Staying cloudy and damp for Poland, although the rain being more showery here. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Switzerland and Hungary as well as Austria. Cloudy outbreaks of rain across England into northern France. A number of sharp showers are expected across Belgium, Holland, Germany and Eastern parts of France. Southern parts of France will be windy but dry. Heavy and frequent, and possibly thundery showers are expected across Italy up across the Adriatic Region with rain across Austria. It will be dry and mostly sunny across Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Heavy showers will affect western half of the Ukraine with east dry and for much of Russia, it will be a dry day with sunny spells. Scattered showers in the forecast across Belarus, while the Baltic Region, Finland, Sweden and Norway should dry with sunny spells. Some rain may affect eastern parts of Poland, otherwise a dry day here. Scattered showers may be found around the Balearics with a dry and sunny day expected across Portugal and Spain.

Friday remains cloudy across United Kingdom with spells of rain. Heavy showers will affect north eastern parts of France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and northern Germany with persistent rain across southern Germany. Another area of rain will extend across Poland down through the Czech Republic towards Croatia, some heavy showers expected across the rest of the Balkans. Most of Italy should be dry except for the odd shower in the north. Most of Greece and expect a dry, sunny day. Fair and mainly dry today across Norway with some patchy light rain across parts of Sweden while Finland will be cloudy with the risk of some heavier rain and showers. It remains dry across Russia and into the Baltic States, Belarus and all of the Ukraine. Western parts of Spain and all of Portugal will remain fine and dry with sunny spells. There is a risk of some heavy showers scattered thunderstorms across eastern parts of Spain extending across into the Balearics towards Sardinia. A wet and very windy day to come across Britain with gales and heavy rain. Much of France should be fine and dry with sunny spells as will Belgium. Number showers are forecast for Holland, Denmark and northern parts of Germany with southern Germany chiefly dry. An area of moderate to heavy rain is forecast across the Alps, into Austria and the northern part of Italy with some heavy showers expected with isolated thunderstorms from Corsica westward to Barcelona. Across southern parts of Italy will be dry, sunny and warm. A wet and increasingly windy day to come across Norway and Sweden with a dry and mostly sunny day expected across Finland. Dry across northern parts of Russia but heavy rain is expected in the south and across into the Ukraine. Much of the Adriatic region and the Balkans should be fine and dry with good sunny spells. Very warm across Turkey. Across Iberia, it will be dry across Spain and Portugal and quite warm. Gales are expected in the North Sea. Cooler across much of Europe today with the warmest weather reserved for southern Spain and Portugal. Mostly dry and sunny across England today. Showers and rain are expected across France but in the south it will be dry and very windy with the mistral continuing to blow.
