The event of the 6th/7th was high pressure building right over the UK and then going into Scandinavia.

Tonight is turning out pretty good..

-1C at Mullingar in Ireland and 0C at Oak Par Carlow so good to see them doing well.

Scotland has a pretty widespread frost already with anywhere north of Tulloch Bridge and west of Aboyne at or below 0C, even locations such as Inverness and Stornoway which are exposed to the coast.

Wales letting us down with nowhere below 3C.

In England we have Shap at 1C and both Spadeadam and Eskdalemeur at 0C.

In terms of cities i believe that Edinburgh is leading the way at 1C.

Leeds is currently an annoying 3C.

Altnaharra leads the way at -3C, not bad to say that the GFS12Z forecast a minimum of just 2C.

4c expected to drop to 1c overnight. Tomorrow looks like a pretty cold day! (well colder than recently).

Air frost, -0.1c now.

Well done.

I just noticed that i am not forecast double digit maxima for at least the first 8 days of December, so the British winter has truly arrived.

About 3C here...but clouded over now and an area of light rain about to come through. That stuff over Wales is just brushing us on its way through so I expect temps will be lifting soon. We may get back towards frost territory by the end of the night though.

Met Office are saying that it will go down to 3c here in Oxford, i'm hopefully with light winds and no cloud cover that the temperature will go lower than that.

Have had one air frost this autumn on the night of nov 6th at -0.4c. Strange because if you thought Backtrack was near the coast then i surtainly am, yet i've had an air frost and he hasn't! Don't forget though that i'm sure that there was an easterly wind that night so the warmth of the irish sea wouldn't have been as significant in my location.

Currently 3.9c here with the odd shower but more frequent clear spells.

GFS18Z run looks really good for Northern Ireland/Ireland, would not be surprised to hear some snow reports around these locations on Sunday night in particular. Western Scotland looks favourable two but i'm still uncertain about NW England, higher parts should have any PPN as snow but will lower levels?

And just for a laugh, the GFS 18Z PPN chart at 108 hours is one I will take anyday from this set up as a member in the NE.... Now back to reality.

Be patient, your location will bare the brunt of a potent easterly in late jan/feb, mark my words.

I will wait patiently then and thanks for your confidence. :-)

3.7C with a drop rate of -1.4C an hour. Could turn out well below freezing here tonight.

Recent rain is frozen over on cars, ground feels frozen, grass sounds frosty.

And while backtrack pleasures his 3c with grass sounding crunchy, we have an actual frost here at -0.3 with white covering the grass and car windows completely frozen.

3.6C actually ;)

Are you sure its not just the crunchy leaves that need to be raked up off your lawn you can feel?

Fancy a drive to Exmoor then?? Lol!

With the latest model runs, especially the 18z, I wonder if we can squeeze a slight upgrade to that still! Here's hoping!
