Meto have now updated there warnings.

Wind warning for southern coastal counties.

Snow warning for Bristol, Gloucester and N.Wiltshire with up to 10cms.

Alot of stress on the uncertainty still.

So I should have added this is for the Thurs/Fri event

First rain, then hail and now it's snowing, even as low down as here. The temperature was also 2.4C when I got up at 8.30 and now it's gone down to 0.9C.

Yes temps really struggling across the region today, helped by the snow showers coming through mid-late morning at the time when it would be 'warming up'

towards the daytime max.

There are lots of showers and probably a few troughs out to the West, one currently crossing Devon and lots of precipitation West of Cornwall. I wonder what will they bring later?

Here's hoping the track of that LP is further south and so pulls the snow threat further south with it, I doubt the track will be known even 12 hours out!

Large flakes of wet snow in several showers this morning along the A30 between Sherborne and East Stour, again in Gillingham around 10.30. None settled. Looking very black towards the NW from here at home right now. More coming?

I probably only just scrape into this region geographically but it's currently 0.7C and it's snowing good and proper. Wet snow but snowing none the less.

Just got home and there is still a patchy covering left on grass/cars/roofs ect over the top of mendips although showers this evening will probably wash it away as we have slightly milder air over region now.

Just had some wet snow in little ole Longlevens, despite scraping above sea level, cant see the tops of the hills at the moment, but will be interesting to see if anything is sticking up there.

Mmmmm 12z NAE not good for our area! Keeps snow event in North Wales, Midlands, East Anglia and South East England! Has LP slightly further north than other models, thus giving us rain!

Still time for improvements though, need the centre of the LP in the channel ideally!

Will be back this evening for a more detailed look!

Afternoon all,

This was a pic taken about an hour ago of the snow shower that we had here....massive flakes, very suprised considering not great elevation here... did turn more sleety later, not settling of course.

Has raised my hopes for Early Friday now...as long as the trajectory of the low stays south of here.

Rather have the snow than stormy winds thanks!

:wallbash:

We need it further south but at this range can it really change that much?! I Always thought NAE was pretty good and only really subject to 50 miles margin or error as a general rule. :nea:

I'd say there's every chance things will change, for the better of worse is unknown but the met still don't know exactly where this lp will track.

.

It can but as you said, the NAE is a High res model so it's not a good sign!

However, on a positive side, the Meto latest update on the track of the storm is more promising! The most likely outcome they invisage would bring snow to North Somerset northwards! Cotswolds could get a lot from that track!

On Iphone so can't post link, but go into Model thread and a link as been posted there, you can see what I'm on about then!

I think that update would of been done before the 12z NAE though! See what fergie says later me thinks! Not getting my hopes up just yet!
