The radar is doing my head in today it has had me under light ppn for most of day but clearly nothing is outside lol

I'm starting to doubt this front is going to really make an impact into somerset and bristol. graphics on bbc look very patchy now also.

Just come up the M5 from Dartmouth - left there at 10.40 this morning - temps on car thermo around 4 celsius all the way up - no sign of any precipitation at all.

Did catch the weather at 9 o'clock this morning - seemed to indicate best chance of snow here in early hours tom - in fact the weathergirl mentioned maybe as far east as the Bristol area.

But if the HP block is strengthening i suspect we won't see any. Maybe later in the week.

I'm convinced the situ will continue to develop over the coming days.

Temp has gone up to 3.8c with dp's of 2.4c. Need those temps to drop & the precip to hold off until after dark for any chance of snow.

Well the temperatures are not so much the problem IMO if we were to get steady ppn to cool the air but you need dew point to be around 0c mark and idealy temperature of 2c or less although it is possible with higher if you have good ppn intensity.

I'm gutted that my weather station has decided to fail on me... The station itself is fine, but I think the temp sensor has had it. Gutted! Grrr

You need due points at least 0, really-1 in this situation, although due points can drop quite quite quick as colder air undercuts the saturated air to the west.

Have faith it will drop and remember its mainly a night event for us with rain to start with then our chance come with that easterly undercut.

I think it's something like 0cm - 2cm for low lying areas of Somerset & Dorset! With 2cm - 5cm on the Mendips and Moors!

Thats nothing compared to what I have had to endure with mine.

The anemometer, wind gauge and rain gauge all failed recently and I had to take it down twice to try and fix it and it never worked. Only the thermometer works now and have had to place it in a different location. To be able to record the wind again I am now having to bye a £75 anemometer to try and put on the roof of the house which isn't going to be easy. :unsure:

A bit dissapointed in how long the station lasted considering I spent over £100 pounds on it and it only lasted just over a year.

Ahhh i cant handle this slow progress..

Its simply not moving east! It started and has now started moving west again.. I hope ones the back edge puts some pressure on it will shift.

Light patchy rain here in South Devon too, not entirely sure what the temp is but my hunch is its about 5c. Wasn't expecting much from this initially only had a fools hope :lol:. But if the models are anything to go by we could get pasted towards the end of next week so fingers crossed for that

just got heavy drizzel here not expecting any snow for the north devon, might get a little sleet over exmoor. Much to wet to settle. Dont forget the dew points temps not that important it all comes down to the dew point. have fun if you get any but i am hopping for zero, flipping hate the stuff after the hell of the last few years, for me it has been a fantastic winter so far
