A right mish mash this evening with light snow that settled on cars, then ice pellets which sat on the top and now a sleety mixture.

Everyone is getting worried about the band to the East - that front is going to pull Westwards overnight bringing the heavier precipitation

and most probably snow with it.

I don't think we quite watching the movement of the precip properly... it's coming our (my) way!

Doesn't seem much westwards movement to me - more like down thru' Berks, Hants, E Dorset in next couple of hours - could be wrong.

k. Well im signing off.

The radar isnt anything like the charts and going by the radar, Its gonna be clear and dry here soon... Not sure what happened lol.. laters

http://uksnowmap.com/

oh ye of little faith.... basically it is heading our way in an uncertain fashion lol .. and it could linger if it stalls....

apart from the 'snow/rain' area being further east than predictedit has a south west movement and may even spread more west.. meto said earlier could linger in south east wales so that suggests it'll pivot northwest even ?

We shall see

For the sake of the 97 users viewing this thread (including me), I hope to god you're right!

Seriously though, how could the hi res models be so far off so close to the event?

Latest BBC news24 graphics, right now, look feeble for us in BTL - maybe midnight to 3.00am -

but east of our region, SE Cotswolds, Swindon, Dorset looks good

What I want to know is why the models handled it so badly?

The real clue today was the lack of an Amber warning, my head picked up on this but my heart said it was still on.

Radar shows everything still headed south so its going to take one hell of a pivot to pull this out of the flop bucket.

Failed forecast wow cant belive it ahh well kind of used to this by now

Why failed? It's way too earlier to write this off yet. Plenty of opportunity to come. From past experience, these things can come back to bite us when least expected (please don't quote me later haha)!
