This is really sticky snow, even building up on telephone wires. Trees will look amazing in the morning! And still it snows in Surrey

Now someone that agrees with me, this was a massive **** up!

Most stuff is pre-recorded, especially the weather.

i wouldnt say it was a massive balls up, although they were clearly wide of the mark - they did say there could be a few flurries over London. It's not like it's a foot deep where none was forecast.

I agree though that unexpected snow is the best variety!

Huge white fluffy 50p flakes here (certainly not wet snow), at least 5cm on the ground, looking a real picture post card village tonight. Looking at the radar this might be better than the weekend's event! Surrey looks like a bullseye spot, especially towards the north west of the county.

mmmmm the radar looks like its taking the heavier stuff down from London south and eastwards a little - towards Eastbourne area that so far hasnt had a lot? Is this an illusion?

cold northerly and 528 dam line over the uk

if everything was moved west by about 500 miles

that would be an excellent chart

Yes, it looks like its tilting S SE before slipping west if you know what I mean - I am no expert with the lingo, but it might explain the heavy snow symbols on the METO sight right the way till 3am and then lighter to 6am across the region (bar the far east)

Still snowing here in South Norwood, and more to come for London area from the north spilling down across Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire, maybe another hours worth at least.

I wondered if snow was settling on any roads in Croydon... It's not in Reigate... :) gritters have done an excellent job around here generally!
