Hi all, sadly I'm on my phone pretending to iron... What do the latest charts (18z gfs / NAE) say about the warm sector?

Out to T24. Dusting before midday for all. Rain south of N.Essex in the afternoon.

I agree Daniel. I remember when I was younger it was raining and turned to snow. For some reason I can't remember I went to a puddle and scooped my hand through and toy amazement there was snow within the puddle. Also on that occasion it had rained for hours before. Mid 90s in chessington

Like I have said before we need to set up a John Pike fan club. What would we do without his nightly forecasts. He caters for multiple learning methods with text and pictures and gives an honest description of what we can expect. Others could maybe learn from his teaching method and evidence he provides.

couldnt agree more

Hence my post earlier

Jp is a legend in our region

And he puts a lot of effort in to his posts

We shouldn't let a few idiots that have just cottoned on to the cold ruin it for the rest of us

unbelievable as it sounds I remember a few years back when it was forecast to snow but it started raining (quite heavily) instead and the ground was completely wet, then after an hour or so it changed to snow and it settled fairly quickly due to the snow coming down quite fast. I would never have thought that snow could settle once the ground was sodden but it obviously can, so I would never rule anything out. It turned out that we got a few inches of snow cover from that episode and it would have been a damn sight more had it not rained for an hour or more before the snow set in.

theres some very heavy ppn spawning out in the North Sea.

It also looks like the frontal ppn from our North West will hit London in the next couple of hours.

Heres a question - what would happen if the two were to meet?

I hope it does stall and / or produce a wrap around. I'm just going by the latest model guidance

It's a bit early (and very chilly!) for wrap arounds, that is for the summersmile.png Looks as though the streamer has arrived where it was predicted in eastern parts of Kent

Yh I know, people should just watch things change literally 2-6 hours before any precip arrives now, it is not exactly going as planned this evening really, the band was never meant to be this far south at 10pm for instance.

Something for Londoners, I also work for Croydon council and we received the following high priority weather alert by email.

The Met. Office are predicting that there is an increased probability of snow from 04.00 hours Monday morning, which may have an affect during tomorrow’s rush hour.

Nothing secret in there so no issues posting it so fingers crossed.

I'm not waiting until 4 am though lol

Latest NAE says a dusting before midday for most. Rain for all after midday. All snow line is North Essex.
