GFS suggests very little snow, and more probably sleet for south & west of the region tomorrow. I don't mind as i'm travelling to Liverpool on saturday morning!

Just been on to the model thread. I don't know why I bothered. Too many egos. Too much sarcasm.dry.png

A big ego might work to a degree on this site, but step away from it and spout your stuff in the real world, in the manner that it is spoken there and you'll just sound like a complete wally to almost everybody (I'd like to say worse really!) dry.png

I think I'll just read Gibby's summaries in the meantime. They are enough analyses for me at the moment!

Clearly TV forecasts are not using the GFS then.

Up to 5cm for me tomorrow according to BBC.

Mornin each. It's just dull and pretty boring here in Ippy. *yawn* still some snow hanging around but not a lot now.

Roll on Spring I say. :)

Have a good day everyone.

*MK* your photo reminds me of the sign in the camping shop window at sale time;

"Now is the winter of our discount tent" :D

There are two fronts heading our way, the first one is going to give a snow event, Friday into Saturday, then a gap so snow should be around for a few hours, then the second band which will quickly bring rain behind a small band of snow. By Sunday morning it's looking like a big drip...

Well that's certainly better than just an all rain event.

Imagine the big drip preceded by just rain - BORING

I'll take a few hours snowfall before turning to rain, rather than rain all the way, anyday.

I've just been out to the bins and it's the same here, also I was surprised just how much snow there is left in my south facing back garden so I went and got the snow ruler...7cm on the patio !

You've got way more than here. I think the deepest we had was about 7cms. We just have large patches of snow now, in effect.

One thing I'll be looking forward to about next week is turning down my heating. I think my bill for the last week or so must be pretty high.ohmy.png

There are an awful lot of hopes being pinned on Friday?

A rightly so, could be significant amounts for some parts of this region come Friday night.

Yes it will be washed away but who cares, I prefer to go out with a bang!

John Hammond continues to ramp a significant snow event starting at 9pm tomorrow for the whole of our region!

I have just checked and the highest temperature I have recorded at home since Monday the 14th of Jan has been 1.5c, coupled with an all day snowfall last Sunday, this has been a very memorable cold spell for me.

Need it to all go now though as yesterday I had to walk a mile on some 'ice rink' pavements, extremely dangerous but at least I managed to stay on my feet though, well this time anyway.

I imagine it always, although this time around the Atlantic is just too brutal.

Animated the latest NMM precip charts from NW Extra for tomorrow, rain in the South maybe some brief snow to the North of the region:

Dexter you sound like you're getting desperate for that final look at snowflakes. The best bet is ignore all the computer stuff and just look out of your window Friday night. If it rains close the curtains and cry into your pillow.

Not desperate.

I just love snow, if I didn't I wouldn't be on this forum and following charts would I.

So that's the BBC and Meto now forecasting snow for me tomorrow! How is that desperate?
